Dacker's drop in average isn't that surprising no? I mean he had a BABIP over .400 O.o in the minors and his K rate is about 22%. However I'm really impressed by his walk rate, close to 19% wow.
Orioles prospect Chris Tillman will be called up to start tomorrow. This kid is good, not quite as good as Matusz, but close. Tillman has a great fastball and a good curve.

Actually, imo, it is. He's hit about .300 at every level he's played in. Technically it's still early in the season, but he's on pace to have a disappointing year. At least he's young (he turned 20 this year) so he's still got room to develop; and also the Padres can afford to keep him at a level for more than a season.
Not sure if it's been discussed, but the Giants have been giving Buster Posey starts at first base in Fresno and reporters from the SJ Mercury News are speculating that the Giants want to call him up to play first base for the big club.

He's been raking and could be the 1st key prospect to get a callup. Huff is moving to OF to make room. You would think that Indians' Santana would be an automatic callup come early July considering how bad Marson has played but dont be surprised to see him in minors until after the all star break. Unlikely but it wouldnt shock me, they are worried about his game calling.

He's definitely more of a contact and line drive hitter. Posey does have good power, IMO he probably becomes a 25-HR guy in MLB at his peak, he doesn't have the raw power of say someone like Carlos Santana or Jesus Montero. His power is above average but he does have a very good bat-speed which helps him. Posey will draw walks and he will hit for high batting average.
Montero and Santana are better offensively than Posey but what separates Posey from others is that he's a total package. Posey's defence is very good.

That's actually a good thing, considering the style the Giants play and AT&T Park definitely favors the gap hitters rather than home run hitters.
While I don't want the Giants to rush him up, they really need a consistent bat in the lineup. On top of bringing him up, if the Giants can pick up another bat on the market somewhere, I think we'll be in business.
Posey's value is also that he can play all over the field. It was sort of a novelty at FSU but I don't see a reason he can't play the OF and IF corners int he majors.

When the Dodgers traded him I think that was his second year as a catcher, so this makes it year four. He seems to be decent enough behind the plate to warrant a call up.

Is Jesus Montero going to stay at catcher though? I know it's been talked about a lot. He's pretty big at 6 feet 4 and 225 pounds. He swings a mean bat but he's struggling right now in AAA, hitting .238 with a .691 OPS. He is however about 2 years younger than Santana.
What I really like about Santana though is his plate discipline and the fact that he has some speed (probably not too much).
Btw, Hoffpauir has hit for the cycle for the second time this year. Pretty neat lol.

That's true. I had forgotten about him. He's doing pretty well in AA.
But if Montero doesn't catch, where does he play? DH would be occupied by Posada I guess until he retires. Teixeira is at first. A-Rod's at 3rd. Jeter's getting up there in age and is at SS.

Left field. He has plus arm strength so he shouldn't do too badly out there.
