One thing that will be funny heading into MTL: you thought Briere got booed there for no good reason the last couple of years? I bet it will be tenfold as much now. The man has been aces this postseason, I can't wait to see him completely demoralize the home crowd.

6.5 million dollar cap hit seems to be worth it right about now.

Anybody selling tickets to 5/24 or 5/28? I'm looking to buy 2 for around $200, if not a little more. Let me know!

Posted this in the Carter/Lappy injury thread but it's worth mentioning here...

Missanelli just peppered Lavi asking him do you move Breire from center if Carter comes back? Lavi hedged at first then Missanelli asked again and Lavi said, "if you want me to answer that I have to say no, you don't touch that line at all."

Yeah, I think you make that the "3rd line" and have Carts center Giroux and JVR.

Match up Carts and Richie against other teams' top lines, let the Briere line go up against bottom-6 guys.

Leighton needs a 60 inch HDTV and a special remote that, when pressed, plays that commercial every time he has a woman over at his place.

So official game plan should be to let Montreal out shoot us, since they cannot win when they have more shots then their opponent.

That commercial is great, and Jim Gaffigan is one of the customers.

In case this hasn't been posted...Pat Hickey Columnist, Montreal Gazette

I have never received more feedback from a column than I did from Tuesday's commentary after my car was vandalized in the parking lot of the Wachovia Center on Sunday night.

The majority of the 250 - and counting - messages offered apologies for the yahoos who trashed my car and stole my license plate as a souvenir.

I received a dozen invitations to dinner and an offer to deliver the best cheesesteak in Philadelphia to my hotel. I wished I had the time to take up some of the offers to talk hockey over a postgame beer.

As I noted in Tuesday's column, I've made many friends here over the years. I have enjoyed the city's restaurants and bars, its art gallery, and its place in American history.

The messages reinforced my belief that the overwhelming majority of Philadelphia fans are decent people who enjoy rooting for the home team, while respecting the opponents and their fans.

Over the next few days, I will attempt to answer each of the e-mails personally, but, for the time being, suffice it to say I appreciate the comments and I have an apology of my own.

On Tuesday, I made reference to Philadelphia fans booing Santa Claus and pelting him with snowballs at an Eagles game 42 years ago. It's part of the Philly lore but, as many fans pointed out, it was more a question of protesting the Eagles' ownership, and it is ancient history.

But one fan didn't help his case when he said I should have updated my references by using events from earlier this year when a Phillies fan allegedly vomited on an 11-year-old girl or when a student invaded the field and was taken down by a Taser.

But again, as I pointed out Tuesday, every city - including Montreal - has an element that confuses passion for a team with a license to behave badly.

I had emailed him, I do feel bad because it's BS to have to deal with that anywhere.

Maybe I wasn't well informed of the situation, but I thought Markov had a slight chance to return. Apparently not.

Montreal Canadiens defenseman Andrei Markov had successful surgery Wednesday to repair a torn ligament in his right knee, and the Canadiens say his expected recovery time will keep him out until early next season.

I never wish or hope for injury to any player, but it is a relief to know that there will be no Andrei Markov pulling a Simon Gagne.

I hope he has no major setbacks and will be back to form next November.

They are really going to be able to exploit the 6 minutes that Kimmo or Pronger aren't on the ice...

But, seriously, it will be harder but you know Gags and Briere are going to play insane and it's not like Stevens where he'd get lost and take 5 minutes to fix his lines after a PK or PP. Lavi is actually, ya know, competent. And they don't have a 4th line worth mentioning whereas ours is actually useful. The benefit of last change really starts to decrease when the home team is only rolling 3 lines anyway.
