I might be a bit biased Strålman being one of my fav players, but I don't see either Edler, Enström or Bäckman being picked over Strålman. BÅG seems to like him and Anton has always done well for the National Team. However, as mentioned, Strålman might play his first Stanley Cup Playoffs this season and might join late, or not at all..

Not a huge fan of Bäckman, but other than him I think that lineup is well balanced. That first forward line would be sweet having at the WCs

You always have the problem to match the number of european players to the NHL players. You want five or six europeans when the tournament starts and then add two or three defenders etc.

Do you really think he will quit now, when he finally is reasonably healthy?

If he can stay healthy for the rest of the season + playoff with MoDo then fine.

Don't forget he just missed a month of time.

Forsberg comes should they bring Naslund along to? Although he would turn down the invitation anyway he wouldn't look out of place on the ice.

One oldie is enough and I don't think he will hold on the higher international level.

Anyone know the status of Johan Andersson, Dynamo Minsk?

Weinhandl, Persson, Andersson and Nilson as right wingers?

I'm actually a bit more excited over the WCs than in many years. First because the failure at the Olympics and hopefully BÅG will go out with a boom. That would be nice, I could also see him trying a few new players.

Me2. I hope Gunnarsson gets called, Eriksson+Grossman from Stars and Steen+Berglund from Blues. All are young so they should come. Hedman aswell but Tampa looks kinda good. And I certainly wanna see Markström get the chance. I just hope we don't bring any 30+ who doesn't bring anything special to the table.

Berglund zuckhed last WC so I'm not sure he will get an invitation. Maybe because he's more of a role player now?

Off the top of my head;

Omark - Mårtensson - Weinhandl
Eriksson - Lindström - Bergfors
Stålberg - Lundqvist - Pettersson
Thörnberg - Nilson - Ericsson

Johansson - Enström
Strålman - Junland
Grossman - Gunnarsson
Oduya

Lundqvist
Enroth

And a few thoughts;
  • Sucks that Zachrisson got injured, would be a shoe in IMO.
  • No Niklas Persson please...
  • Don't know if Foppa is interested, but if he is make room for him.
  • Would love to see Sjöström on Tre Kronor but with BÅG we all know that's not going to happen.
  • Don't think Steen is interested, but would like to see him there.
  • Would like to bring Hedman along but considering it's his first season in the NHL with an 82 game schedule and that's his play has regressed lately season it's like begging for another Patrik Berglund situation.
  • Staffan Kronwall?

I just discovered Davidsson has not been on any WC team lately. Has he been passed over by BAG or has he been injured etc? Thörnberg but no Davidsson raised my eyebrowes, but maybe competition is higher at center.

Persson seem to do very well in Russia and even was considered for the olympics but I agree with the possible thought of having a few players who could break through during a tournament, like Ericsson or Zachrisson etc.

If I remember correctly Davidsson himself retired from Tre Kronor, he wanted to focus more on HV and not tear out his body by playing an additional ~20 games per season.

I don´t think lundqvist wanna play this year but i realy like this team. This year we have many players from NHL eligable. And I realy hope Stålberg will come cuz he´s speed woud fit perfectly with Mårtensson and Weinhandl. This can be a realy fun tournmanet!

I'd like to see some young SEL players in tournament. The following would be nice; Markström, F. Pettersson, Klasen, Tedenby, Videll.

I think it's too early to speculate about NHL-players, but I'm convinced the youngsters I mentioned would surprise a lot of people in a positive way. Plus they have a huge desire to prove themselves and win.
