First off, awesome game in every possible way. I expect Halak to be excellent in game 2, so we have to put forth the same kind of effort as we did tonight. No letdown, no complacency.

Secondly, I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet, but why doesn't Pronger have a beard going? I mean, he's Chris Pronger, so he can do whatever he wants, but it just struck me tonight and I thought it was weird, given the tradition and how everyone else on the team has one.

I have this image of Jim McCrossin trying to stitch up Pronger and every time he gets close Pronger just elbows him repeatedly

I don't see stitches on his face or anything.

I want them to ask him about the end of the game!

I'm surprised that they have not got Prongs to stop that Icelandic volcano and stop that oil leak yet.

So why didn't Philly play the Hot Hot Hot goal song tonight after the 5th goal?

Thanks
Pronger was at center ice and was shooting the puck in. His stick broke on the shot and according to the CBC guys it flew up high towards the scoreboard. Moen (I think?) got the puck and was going down the right side and Pronger rushed over to him, and hit him.

He has an ice pack on his left leg but they're laughing on CBC because nobody asked about an injury.

You know a guy is amazingly awesome when it takes you over 2 weeks to realize he doesn't grow a playoff beard. Hadn't picked up on that, either. He probably grows a Crosby. Can you imagine Chris Pronger with that beard?

Watch out next game, that's all I can say.

Habs were destroyed by Penguins on 1st game, and rest is history.

Don't be overconfident because after followed Habs each game, I can tell you that the series will be long.
Why do Habs fans, a lot in the general forum GDT, keep talking about how well the Habs "bounce back after a game 1 loss," yet they only cite game 2 of the Pens series as an example?

The Flyers arent the media darling Pens, you wont have the same results....... Sorry, Habs fans.

The Flyers defense and scoring depth will be too much to handle. Plus, the team has dealt with every type of adversity you could throw at a hockey team (losing streaks, every goalie injured, top scorer out, best PK'er out, coaching change, game 7 win after starting the series in a 3-0 hole, etc...).

This Flyers team will work harder then anyone that lines up against them. Habs might win one game.

Probably a real stupid question, but can he be riding them too hard? Granted it's working right now, but for how long? Just wondering.

The reference was specific to the early part of the first period. They were both delighted with the overall effort but the overwhelming thought was that it is just one game (Gagne said it a few times).

Ok that's cool. I thought he was going to have them out for a midnight skate, Herb Brooks style, because we didn't win 8-0.

the Flyers went like 11 minutes without a shot after the goal by Coburn. Other then the goal there was no real quality scoring chance for the remainder of the period.
I do have a question why they went like a 10-12 seconds into the 2nd period, there was a whistle and there was another faceoff at center ice. Versus didnt explain anything. Not that its important because JVR scored shortly after that.
