Hal Gill: "It's Easy to Hate the Flyers"

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=321646

"It's easy to hate the Flyers," said Gill, a former Pittsburgh Penguin who lived through the intense cross-state rivalry in the playoffs the last two seasons. "They've been the Broad Street Bullies, their fans are loud and obnoxious.

"If you're from Philly that's great, if you're not you hate them. It's fun to hate the Flyers, just like it's fun for them to hate our fans and our team. It should be a good series as far as hate goes."

Nice article. A lot better than the "they are a great team and it's going to be tough" ********. .

The ECF has 2 of the 3 or 4 most-hated teams in the league going head to head. I love it.

More evidence that amassing haters is an expected side-effect of doing something right.

Hal Gill can make his argument on the ice, if he wants.

I did get it. I also got over it. We're obnoxious, you're obnoxious. Did Gill really say anything we don't already know? Hall Gill thinks we are rowdy and obnoxious (and he's right). Hall Gill can suck it. Him and that retarded chant.

It probably would, but it shouldn't be that big a deal either way. Both fan bases can be pretty obnoxious.

The reaction to my comment is funny....Gill insults the character of our fanbase, no biggie. I insult the quality of your chant, and I am reaffirming our image as D-bags. This is a nice even handed standard here....

I predict Hal Gill and the Flyers will be dropping their gloves screaming at each other about what constitutes a decade

Philadelphia vs Montreal

What will happen first? A Habs fan gets stabbed in Philly for singing "Ole Ole Ole" or Montreal fans burns down half of the city from a loss?

I can see it now.

Here comes the "History will be made" videos:

Rewind of Montreal looking like a bomb hit it with flames everywhere. "What if Lundqvist made the save in the shootout?"

Video of Philly fans stabbing Habs fans from singing Ole, Ole, Ole. "What if Crosby, Malkin, Gonchar, and Fleury didn't suck against Montreal? What if Boudreau matched lines?"

Gill is just being humble. Flyer crowd might be obnoxious and loud for Pennsylvanian standards lol , but comparing it to the Montreal crowd? " Ya , uh huh" is all I have to say.

Canadiens organization opened up the Bell centre for game 7 to a sold out crowd of almost 22,000 fans ... I bet you anything that crowd was louder than a normal Flyer home game.

Flyer fans are loud and obnoxious when you walk by them with a visitor jersey on ... they'll yell something absolutely retarded and trashy, and then sit like sleepy potatoes for the rest of the game. When there's a big hit or a fight, they'll stand up and do the " Ya you suck Canada " for about 5 seconds.

And the Ole Ole chant pisses Flyer fans off, it makes their hair curl (which makes me smile).

Skate free? You're out of your mind!

Hartnell will be throwing gloves left and right to try and prevent this open ice skating!

I admit I'd take Hartnell on my team any day, but no amount of gloves throwing can stop the Habs. Penalty shots galore!
