Kotalik (re-entry), Zherdev, Colliton, Svatos and Rivet

Saw this over on the main board, some decent names on the waiver wire today. Zherdev sparks my interest a little. I can see some other teams, but do you see the Bruins putting in a claim on anyone, if the player slips to them? I have to imagine some of these guys get claimed. Rivet as the Sabres captain waived is interesting, tough way to go out.

Zherdev's got 15 goals, 4 assists for 19 pts in 47 games, a +7
Svatos's has a goal and 2 assists in 9 games for the Predators.
Kotalik's got 3 goals and 0 assists in 20 games for the Flames.
Rivet's got 1 goal and 2 assists in 23 games with the Sabres
Collitons got 2 goals and 1 assist in 15 games for the Islanders

Haven't looked at these guys contracts yet.

Zherdev and more on waivers

Didn't see it anywhere

Per Bob McKenzie: CGY puts Ales Kotalik on re-entry waivers, BUF puts Craig Rivet on waivers, PHI puts Nik Zherdev on waivers, NSH puts on Marek Svatos.

Zherdev on a one year deal, good fit in the hub? Rivet could fill some depth and has an expiring contract. His cap hit for the rest of the season should be around 1.15M which is just about how much cap we have left.

Any of you interested?

Wow, Rivet really fell off in the last year or so. A healthy scratch almost all year? I wonder if Montreal or some other team with injuries will kick the tires despite the bloated deal.

Zherdev on waivers seems to signal that Philly is clearing space for a deadline pickup.

What's up with Zherdev? He's still a pretty talented player ( 15 goals in just 12 minutes ice time ) and is still in his prime years. I don't see how Philly can't get something for him via trade.. why waivers?

From what i read seems Philly may be looking for one more deadline deal, so they want cap space.

Zherdev from what i understand put these numbers up with not top line minutes which is respectable. At 2 million he could be an upgrade over Ryder?

IMO he'll get picked up quick though, can't see him making it to Boston.

Would this mean we can get Zherdev for $1 Mil? or does he have to clear first?

Zherdev's attitude an work ethic have been a problem in the past. Wouldn't be suprised if it's still an issue.

Ya Zherdev is lazy, and apparently awful in the room. there's a reason why a Stanley cup favorite is dumping. And we shouldn't be touching him either.

Btw the great thing is that all the guys the Flyers signed in the off season are going fully busto:

Leighton, Zherdev, Walker, etc...

We're starting to measure up to those guys. That playoff series would be SO good.

Apparently he tries for nothing but wrap arounds. He's inconstant and lazy from what I gather. There's obviously something wrong when no one ever wants this guy

Meh I wouldn't mind to have a look at Zherdev, but it would probably mean Seguin being a healthy scratch so might think twice.

Lucic - Krejci - Horton
Marchand - Bergeron - Recchi
Zherdev - Peverley - Ryder
Kelly - Campbell - Thornton

Actually, Svatos interests me more than Zherdev.

Svatos had a couple promising seasons in Colorado, and he's under 30. Wouldn't mind picking someone like him up.

All that said, we really don't have room on our roster for any of these guys.

Zherdev might be a good insurance policy if we get any injuries up front.

Zherdev is the anti-julien type player.

Could they claim Rivet, stick him in Providence, and call him up when there's no cap in the playoffs?
