15th Pick

Who gets it Nash or NYI??? We both had exact same record. You beat us head to head but we had the better GF/GA. Anyone know?? Thanks

Well if we had been battling for the last spot in terms of who made the playoffs, Nashville would be in because of the head to head result. If that holds true for the draft, then NYI is #15.

The tiebreakers go like this...Wins, pts obtained against tied teams, and then goal differential.

According to today's Tennessean:

"For starters, the Predators own the 15th pick in the first round, which marks the lowest first-round selection they've ever had and the second time they've picked lower than seventh in the opening round."

Yeah, that's the second time they've said 15th pick. Another source said we had the 16th, but I don't recall who or what it was. I'm tempted to believe the Tennessean, but I have my doubts.

I've heard both David Poile and Ray Shero state that we have the 15th pick.

yes...the tie breakers are:1. Wins ... 2. Points obtained in games against tied teams ... 3. Goal differential

of course this is according to the ESPN website.

Ok---so you beat us--then we should have the 15th pick

I thought you said points obtained in games against tied teams was the second tiebreaker(you beat us) and goal diff was third. If that's the case you would pick 16th--

It is, but it appears that it isn't the draft ranking tie breaker as well.

I think I recall reading somewhere that whomever wins the tie-breaker gets the higher pick (in this case: 15th - instead of getting the 16th).

If that's the case - it's kind of ass-backwards.

Interesting...I would have guessed the opposite. So you could be a higher seed (let's say 5th place) and you could just barely beat out the 6th, 7th, and 8th teams due to tie breakers, and you'll get to draft ahead of them provided you don't make the cup finals?
