Toronto are favourites for Roman Cervenka.

Just to let you know that Cervenka has signed for Avangard Omsk.

Can't have them all. Besides that, I don't see anything special in Cervenka.

He looked pretty good at the WC. Guess his efforts in beating a star-laden Russian team impressed some of the KHL folks.

The past year I've read posts on the boards along the lines of "Burke's a joke of a GM, Toronto's a joke of Franchise, ect, ect". Yet since Toronto has been making attempts to upgrade, I read things "why is Toronto signing every one that comes along" (please note I'm not necessarily refering to those who posted in this thread, it just makes me think of what I've been reading with the past few acquisitions-no offense intended).

Toronto had a bad year. They are TRYING to improve in "outside the box" ways, particularly while not having draft picks in this years draft.

So why does Toronto get guff for trying to improve? (I'm not criticizing, I'm openly curious).
Because people hate on Toronto for the sake of hating on Toronto. Doesn't matter what we do we'll get hate directed towards us.

This guy is hardly an old veteran like you were implying.
