History Was Made (NHL vid)

Not sure how to post an NHL.com vid in thread but it gave me the chills. Watch the Lava jump at the end.

Just saw it when I went to the YouTube home page. We were in fact the last team still alive in the playoffs to get one of those. All other teams were already showcased. We in fact had to make history to get acknowledged by the NHL for such a commercial.

Nice. Wasn't sure how they were going to handle it, but they did it well.

I don't know if he is upset. This playoff is full of storylines that are creating headlines for the NHL. It ended up being the perfect time to roll out the history will be made campaign.

I had tears in my eye seeing that video.

I'm sure Bettman is making some calls as we speak to get that commercial pulled off the air and replaced with a "what if Sydney........" one.

People forget that the Flyers are a cash cow for the NHL so once the golden boys are out (Syd and Ovie), they are one of the best bets for high American ratings.

The only worthy one so far that shows current playoff moments.

Yeah, it's kind of bizarre. The Flyers get frequently snubbed by the NHL for promotional purposes (if it wasn't for NBC, the Flyers would still be waiting for the Winter Classic), yet are one of the biggest merchandise-moving teams. For example, the Flyers had 4 of the top 20 best selling jerseys this year up to February (not sure about the whole season).

They got really drunk, woke up this morning, and had no idea where there jersey was. They then watch our playoff game tomorrow, sill mad that his team lost, only too see this commercial and him throwing the jersey on the ice

Agreed. With due respect to other teams and moments that they've used in the commercials from this year that game/moment is the only one that I think would be considered making history regardless of what happens the rest of the way in the playoffs. I mean the Bieksa one? Come on it's just a goal, and they didn't even win the series.

But in some way I respect the decision. That is one fan who is truly upset. What better way to show that frustration?
