The Draft is before Free Agency.... So can't he trade him? Just there is much less value.

Are you guys confirming these trades with Rangerfan?

They should really be edited all into one post.

I guess you can trade UFA's but you really shouldnt get much for them

plus theres a big deal between OTT and DAL coming waiting for notices from both GMs...

Why shouldn't you get much for UFAs? Look at some like Ilya Kovalchuk, people will pay a lot to get the first bid on them. Or it could be a weaker one, so they'll sign for less and so you take them. It's very common for people to target free agents, especially at trade deadline and draft. Hell RFAs Carey Price and Jaroslav Halak are being shopped around constantly in real life, and that's more than likely going to happen at the draft or not at all. But with their abilities you'd expect a lot. Really you should expect the exact same thing for them as you do any other time, and not take any less. It's not a wise or realistic move that a GM would do to just take less so they don't have to go through contract negotiations with someone who could turn out great for someone else.

Kovalchuk was worth a lot at the deadline, Cormier, Oduya, Bergfors, a 1st(Not sure if that's it). If he were to be traded on June 20th I'd be shocked to see him fetch a 1st round pick.

And RFA's are worth considerably more, since with their rights the player either has to sign with you or not play hockey for a year.

look at bouwmeester
all they got for him was jordan leopold and a 3rd round pick
RFAs are different, its much easier to sign them they have restrictions

Carl Klingberg
2nd round pick (NJ)

:thrashers

Zach Boychuk

We feel that Zach Boychuk hasn't progressed as much as we hoped and we're not sold on his ceiling so we have traded him for Carl Klingberg and a 2nd round draft pick.

We feel that Klingberg is a very safe bet to make the NHL and see him as a 40-50 point player that plays a strong 2 way game and also brings energy. We feel that Boychuk and Klingberg's upside are similar but ultimately Klingberg brings it in a bigger package and the the 2nd round draft pick will help the rebuild in Carolina.

Islanders:

Dennis Wideman
Zack Hamill

Bruins:

Josh Bailey

We felt that the previous management rushed the development of bailey and he would be best suited with new surrondings. We like Zack Hamill's goal scoring abilities, and we will give him every chance to start next season with the big club. Dennis Wideman is a very good offensive defense man, and we are glad to add him to our power play, along with Stiet and Saungetti.

Bruins happy to add Bailey who has already demonstrated the ability to put the puck in the net along with providing two way play. The Bruins needed to clear cap space in order to re-sign Seidenberg. Bruins do not consider the loss of Hamill to be significant in the least.

Blake Wheeler

Drayson Bowman
4th round pick (Boston)

Nothing against Bowman but you have to give to get and we feel that Wheeler's unique blend of size and skill will benefit the club moving forward.

Rumor has it that the Atlanta Thrashers are willing to move Angelo Esposito and Ivan Vishnevskiy for some draft picks and prospects.
