Obviously Russia has a much better team here but if they play like they did in the Olympics they won't even beat this Canadian team. I actually think this will be a close one, I have a feeling Canada will play some inspired hockey and Russia will maybe start out a little slowly.
With that said even if Canada wins this one I still don't think they will win gold. They don't seem to have a whole lot of chemistry.
I would love to see another clutch Eberle moment today.
This is where Canada needs Hal Gill and Josh Gorges to shutdown Ovy
LOL, they certainly did a number on him in the first round. Too bad the Habs are still playing and Gill is American. I wonder why he didn't get any consideration for our Olympic team.
I'm okay with whatever happens, Russia's more talented but that's usually they case and they still can't get out of their own way most of the time. And like someone else said, it's not like Canada is THAT bad, they're roster is decent and certainly capable of winning this one.

All I hope for is that if Canada loses we don't get the usual "nobody cares about the Worlds anyway" line from Canadians.
That's somewhat true though, regardless of who wins. It'll be funny to see the Russian stacked team lose though. The only reason I'm watching is for the match-up and I want to see how Malkin and Gonchar are playing.
Am I correct in assuming that Kovalchuk isn't wearing the number 17 because that was Valeri Kharlomov's number and it's been retired at the Russian National Team level?
(That would explain why Malkin subsequently gave up his 71 to Kovalchuk for number 11.)
