2010 Draft

I know it is playoff fever time, but the THN Draft guide arrived today and I was looking to see what draft picks the Flyers have. Does anyone know what picks we have?

We have rounds 3 through 7. Unless we win the Cup, then the Ducks get our 3rd.

I didn't start this thread yet for a freaking reason.

To answer your question, we traded our 1st, our 2nd, and if we win the Stanley Cup then we have to give our 3rd to Anaheim. We have a 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th.

That'll never happen

Didn't we trade our 5th to DET with OKT for Leino?

I hope we trade Carle for either a late first or early 2nd to pick up Campbell or Pickard.

I'll be doing a writeup of prospects that I like, not necessarily for us but in general. Here's mine from last year:

http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t...ighlight=draft

I think I did pretty well looking back; Kreider, Budish, Olivier-Roussel, Haula, Rundblad, Elliott, Lee, and Hackett have all had very good years after being drafted.

I wouldnt mind doing the same thing either. I love doing writeups on prospects, but I will wait until it gets closer to draft day to do my writeup.

Go for it. I already have some later round prospects I'll be doing write-ups for.

Maybe if we get three people doing a bunch, we'll actually hit one.

The later rounds this year are going to be hard to guess.

Between us 3, that would certainly be a good way to start that Prospect Podcast we were talking about.

This is the first and last time in my life I'll ever be able to honestly say I really hope our first pick this year is in the 4th round.

Thanks guys. As I said, I know it is not really the time to ask that. I got the THN and it got me thinking... always a bad thing.

Isn't this this draft one of the worst in a while?

Not the first couple rounds. Id say the first 3 could be pretty solid, but towards the end, it will taper off.

But the Red Wings will find someone in the 6th or 7th round who will turn into the MVP of the league. Book it.

Yes, because let's trade a top four defensemen when there isn't anyone on the roster who can replace him.....

that is what free agency is for. And Carle's success is a direct result of playing with Pronger. Take a guy out of free agency that is similar to Carle and VHOLA!!! You have the second coming of Matt Carle, for possibly cheaper.

Yes, because acquiring a top four defender through free agency is going to be cheaper than 3.25 million a year. Have you been watching free agency and seeing what defensemen are going for? Ron Hainsey got 4.5 million a year from Atlanta. 4.5 million a year. Hainsey would be nothing more than a 5 or 6 here. There's no way you're getting a top four defenseman through free agency for less than 4 and change in free agency.
