Thoughts on SK74's performance tonight?

I'm just wondering what everyone's thoughts on his performance tonight were?

I personally thought he was working fairly well, I didn't see him taking any lazy shifts or anything and I thought he did a good job utilizing his speed at certain points but overall he wasn't much more of an impact than Pouliot has been.

Does he stay in for game 3? I wish they would get rid of a guy like Darche and use BOTH Pools and Kostitsyn, possibly even on the same line.

What do you guys think?

Didn't really notice him and I guess that's a good thing if you're on one of the bottom 2 lines.

I thought he did fairly well. What pisses me off is that when were trailing by a few goals, Martin replaces Moen on the Gomez line by the offensive dynamo Tom Pyatt. I like him and all, but he doesn't belong on there and if you're going to play Sergei (Who tried tonight), why not put him in an offensive role, place he should be WAY before Pyatt (If we compare who has the best offensive tools).

I understand you want to give the guy another shot, but under 5 min of game time.. unless he was gretzky in his prime, you cant expect much.

no comment I guess.

If you want to give him another chance, at under 5 min a game, you might as well bench MAB on 5 v 5 take him out on pp (not that its very productive nowadays)and put Obyrne out there
even with obyrne, that wont make us score more than 0 goals

He's waste on the 4th line. Enough screwing around. Put him on the top 6 where he can actually make a difference. We ANY offense we can juice out, we ****ing need it.

Played under 5min with other 4th liners.

Martin will have to make some adjustments. I understand he wanted to put a defensively minded bigger body in Moen with Gomez-Gio versus the Pens and Caps. It made sense.
But there's no need to put any defensive forward on the top lines vs the Flyers. Pyatt on that line was a ridiculous move.
This isn't a knock on Pyatt, there's just so much this kid can do. at the moment. But Martin should know better.

We can't buy a goal in this series so far and Martin keeps Pyatt on top 6. He'll need to change his lines and replacing MAB with O'Byrne should be the first thing on his mind. MAB with more icetime than Spacek Really, what in God's name do they see in him??

Martin needs to create lines that will give him more depth. You have Sergei and Pouliot that can produce dangerous things offensively, at least its gives Martin more options and if it doesn't work then he can roll 3lines like he's done throughout these POs.

I turned off my TV after 5 minutes. He didn't score a goal. Doesn't really matter imo.

I thought he would come out and show Martin that he made a mistake by benching him. Instead, I saw a player that was completely uninspired. I was quite disappointed.

Right.. and whose he doing it with the 4th liners who never play? He tries to create something himself, gets stopped, and he gets benched for another month.

what does this have to do with me saying skost didnt play inspired hockey? I at least expected his compete level to be very high but it was evident early on that he didn't have it. Competing hard has nothing to do with linemates, that is up to the individual. So it doesn't matter if he's playing with gomez and gionta or moore and moen... he's gotta start somewhere and at least give the coach a hope that he wants to win badly. I dont think he achieved that goal.

This is the playoffs... its time to put your sleeves up and get to the dirty areas. Its almost as if he treated it like a regular season match. He didn't drive to the net, he was hesitating going for pucks around the boards, and he didnt show any emotion whatsoever when Hartnell ran him during a line change. I;m not asking him to take a dumb penalty, but that play pretty much summed up skost's state of mind during the entire match... just going through the motions.

I noticed that Sergei has a severe right eye twitching problem on the bench

He had five minutes of ice time to show something and again he didn't do *****. Please send that guy to Siberia. I noticed big brothers play slipped last night. I think he is a detriment to his game as well.

Might as well have left Pouliot in the line-up. Bringing up a guy for his scoring abilities, and playing him 5 mins when you're behind the entire evening = what's the point?

I think it was more about shaking up Pouliot to see what's going to fall off. And maybe please AK46 by bringing back his lil bro. I hope it worked with Pouliot, cause big brother didn't pick anything up last night.

So I expect Pouliot back in for Game 3.

Got put on his but and then dragged it to the bench in ultra-slow motion. That was just ugly. You need to hussle or you hurt the team.

A lot of people seem to be saying that he should have had Pyatt's minuts. That's crazy. The Flyers would love to play against SK. Pyatt not so much. He was like our best player last night.

He was a non factor...a guy like White would make a much bigger impact in that role...a banger that will make his presence felt.

So the players want him out, yet Martin dresses him to play such a small role? Tons of fail there....I actually can't believe he did that. If you dress him, is to make him a factor.
