Depends on which Russian team are we going to play against. The bunch of faulty clones that played against Germany yesterday can be defeated. But if we meet the standard Russian team, we're going to get steamrolled. As much as our boys want to win, they simply don't have the skill to support that wish. Except maybe for goaltending, our team is inferior in every other aspect.

It would be a huge surprise if the Russians didn't win, actually.

Only russian players can be losers after this game if they lose... with our current roster, we already have great success in possible silver medal and playing this final.

Many fans overrate the Russians. I knew the semifinals game would be very close. Team Russia, with all the stars they have, doesn't play as a team. The only one line that seems to be working is the Malkin's one.

The bottom line is, don't be shocked if the Czechs win today. I wouldn't be.

Exactly. Given the results of the last 3 years I was already satisfied when they got past the quarterfinal. After that I just wanted us to get a medal, we did, so that's me satisfied. Everything else from now on is just the icing on the cake, which I wouldn't mind doing without

Perhaps because their roster is far better than any other team at the tournament and because so far they're 7-0-0, scoring 30 goals and allowing 9. Germany is the only team that has lost by less than two goals against them - and did so twice.
By comparison, the Czechs have balanced on a knife's edge throughout.

When Denmark can beat watered down versions of Finland, the US and Slovakia in one tournament, then certainly most things can happen. However, if this watered down Czech roster defeats a Russian team with most all their superstars there, it would certainly qualify as a shock result, to most Czech fans here as well, I'd wager.

Again - no disrespect to the Czech team. Like a number of other teams, they've already exceeded expectations, and can be proud of their performance no matter what happen.

So canadian olympic team is also overated, they barely beat switzerland at home and slovakia.

Not always the best team on paper wins.

Exactly.

And yes, Canada might be overrated (Team Canada Z would beat ya), but not as much as Russia.

Russia hockey team is just the Argentinian soccer team, only attack,no defense.

Btw,the two teams who arrive to the final are the teams with most players from the olympics.

Let's be frank - we were damn lucky to get so far Not a bad thing - being lucky was always an important part of the game. But against the Russians, luck will not suffice, they're simply too good and I don't think they'll underestimate the Czech team as much as they underestimated the Germans yesterday (I was rooting for the Germans up to the end ).

Moreover, this is a fairly young team. The old spirit of Russian-Czech rivalry is gone - unfortunately for us, since it always motivated our players to overachieve against Russia.

Rozsival probably going to log 25+ minutes agains for the Czechs. Such an underrated blueliner.

Its feels like the Cezchs will win today...they have so far done a typical Czech gold-tournament...started slow and step it up for every game and have won two play off games on SO...so I have to go with the Czech win today.

Hopefully the Ovechkin line will do some damage today and the Kovalchuk line to keep putting the pressure on.

I only hope the Russians will not give us double digit whipping or any sort of humiliation like 7 or more goal difference

Yeah, that's pretty much what I am praying for - that we lose honourably

Also, it would be nice if our defence wasn't asleep today, I don't want us to serve them nice shooting opportunities on a silver plate.

I hate the Czechs but I'll still root for them. If only they could both be disqualified and Sweden would win...

You should thank Harju, who made icing And other players as well, they just weren't able to hold on against Czechs... what would they do against Russians?

The soccer world champ start next month, the pathetic russia soccer team is not there.

The only sport where russia is world champion nowadays is the hockey nt and the female handball team,so let's keep that today.

Ah,i forget the female volley team, but they are awful nowadays.

I sense an upset.

3-1 Czechs, with 32-18 SOG difference going to Russia.

Would be one last hurrah for Jagr.

And maybe a reason to re-think Russian coaching in preparation for 2014.
