The timeout was just a big FU to the swedish media.
They've been blaming the semi loss on the timeout with 15 sec left.

Uwe Krupp: What the **** is that all about!

As read from the lips. Classless, BÅG, classless.

The story behind the timeout is that he got a lot of crap from the media and fans for the timeout with 15 seconds to go in the semis. So this is pretty much a big "up yours" to them. It had nothing to do with being disrespectful to the Germans.

To explain the timeout:

It was a FU to the swedish media for bashing him for the timeout he took against the Checkz in the semi. It was no disrespect to the Germans.

Dis-respect? It's his last game as the Swedish coach. Swedish media whined about the timeout against the Czechs.. Not disrespectful whatsoever.

And sorry if I came off as a whiner about the refs, I just hate inconsistent refs.. as long as they keep calling or not calling whatever the full game I don't care.

That isn't true at all, and if you followed the Oilers you'd know that.

Of course, it's disrespectful, whatever happens between your coach and your media shouldn't be played out in athletic competition at the highest level. If he wants to get back at the media, he can write a memoir or sell his story to some Swedish rag.

Let's face it! Germany already did very much. Very well done by the Germans. It's basically team on the same level as Switzerland. Will be hard to beat them in the future.

Congratulations, Sweden! Bronze is still a medal

Yes, and I thoght it was brilliant. A good payback to all the whiners in this forum for instance who don't understand that you have to give a rest to players who have a 55-second shift behind them.

Ofcourse Germany had nothing to do with Swedish media's and Swedish fans' idiocy, so it's understandable that they were pissed off.

Calling a timeout with .7 seconds left, with a 3-1 lead for the Bronze medal is total disrespect towards the Germans. Who gives a **** about the Swedish Media. It doesn't make his action towards the German team right...

I think everybody here gets it. What BÅG seemed to forget is that there was another team on the ice too. They didn't deserve this circus.

They were deciding which schnitzel and beer restaurant to go to after the game. BAG was diagramming the seating order.

Yes it is. And using a gesture thats disrespectful towards your opponent just to get back at your press is not sportsman like.

Yes, I actually feel bad for the Germans because they had no idea what it was about. But as a Swede, it was pretty funny even I hate him.

Good comedy is supposed to insult some people.
Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, Bill Hicks. They are ****ing awesome, but they piss off people all the time.

Germany finishing ahead of four "big 7" teams and Switzerland is great. They didn't have quite the drive that they had yesterday against Russia, but they should be proud of what they achieved in this tournament.

You have to respect this guy.
Or I guess not, since he's not a particularly good coach. But this little episode was quite funny.
