Here's an unpopular prediction:

I wouldn't be surprised if Randy Jones is re-signed.

If it's for less than $1M, it won't bother me too much. He's definitely earned his whipping-boy status with boneheaded plays from time to time, but he's also played pretty well on occasion.

Uh, no, he is useless and that's just putting it lightly.

If Dean resigns him for whatever reason, it would be a major fail.

Me thinks the organization plans on moving forward, not backwards. Not happening, much to the dismay of Randy Jones fans.

Really don't see why they'd bring him back. Voynov, Martinez, and Drewiske have all been waiting for their shot and I'm not entirely up to speed on the defensemen available but I'm sure there's a better option in the free agent market.

He's 27 and he made 3 million last season. If he signed for less than a million dolllars he has the worst agent in the world. Plenty of teams have money to spend, everybody needs defensemen, he'll sign somewhere it just won't be in LA.

I'm 28, 5'9", 185, can skate decently, can cough up the puck in our zone, and can damn sure play poorly positionally. Sign me for league minimum.

Here's one that I've been wondering: Rob Blake.

If Scott Niedermayer signs elsewhere, I could see the Ducks signing Rob Blake. That could work in the Kings' favor.

His post season play has retirement written all over it. 2 points in 14 games is a joke. My question is is he a hall of famer? And if so does he go in as a King?

I hope not although if he does, his picture should show him holding the C that he ripped off his jersey in his hand

Blake will not retire as long as there is money to be made. Offense from the D has been a problem for the Sharks in general. Blake has been no help. But he'll get a job next year if he wants it just due to reputation.

Hall of Fame? I don't know. I doubt it. One Norris? A questionable one at that? One Cup. Less than 1000 pts. Nah.

I thought he was done his last season he was here, his effort was terrible. Then suddenly, as soon as he signed with the sharks his play elevated. That just showed that he really didn't care when he was here, he was holding back and just didn't try. There's no way Dean gives him another contract especially now that he's two years older.

He won't sign for that little. Besides, that train has moved on. We have far too many young, gifted defensemen in the system itchingfor - and deserving a spot on this team well ahead of Jones.

If the Kings re-sign the JACKASS I will take a bullhorn to El Segundo and verbally berate DL from the parking lot until he tears up the contract.
