I see your point, and it make good sense, but Danis didn't get 10 games. I can't see Frazee getting 15. But back up goalie is the least of the team problems right now. The nucleus of the team needs to start transitioning in to the future.

No goalie plays as much as Marty, and maybe that should change. He played 77 games, the next closest in the NHL is 73.

15 games, as a rough estimate, still gives Marty 67, and he would still have been in the top 10 last year for games played. There's also a difference between Frazee and Danis. We knew for the most part what we had in Danis, he's a veteran stop-gap guy, Frazee is our future to develop, or at least test. Frazee should definitely play an NHL game before we make it to next year's draft.

EDIT: And Danis had 12 appearances for 467 minutes, which adds up to just under 8 full games.

I would like to see Frazee get a few starts next season. It's time to test out what we have in the farm. The more we know, the further we can analyze who might be expendable.

Frazee's the #4 right now. He's not going to start the year in the NHL.

Frazee is going to be irrelevant until Broduer retires and most likely beyond that.

McKenna looked fine in his few starts in the bigs. (I believe we faced him once). I'd rather see what he can do behind Marty next year and give Frazee another whole year in the AHL.

McKenna as the NHL backup wouldn't bother me.

Some guys don't need a lot of time.

Serious question: Are you privy to any behind the scenes/lockerroom info here? Or are you going on media coverage and hunches?
