This is the furthest the Habs have gone since I was a conscious fan (they won in 1993, but that doesn't count because I was 2). It sucks to see them lose, but I'm very proud. They proved many people wrong this year.
Wow... Let's let Plekanec go because "OMGZ HE'S SOFT AS BUTTER!!!" and then let's spend the whole year looking for a decent replacement for him, like we did with Streit in 2008-2009.
Being rough ain't his job. He has played over 110 games this year, the reason why he's being that tired out is only and only because he has spent the whole year playing for him and Andrei, getting in the corners and getting the puck out of it when Andrei wouldn't do it.
What we have to do isn't replacing our physically weak, talented players with grinders and tanks... We have to find a way to get some of those tanks to replace those who didn't do their job in the first place (Andrei Kostitsyn, Benoît Pouliot).
This is the end of both Kostitsyns in Montreal, let's take this money and sign some guy who will be able to play that role better...
Oh and to those who want nothing about Pleks next season... Guess why geniuses? Datsyuk was considered as the biggest playoffs choker in the league back in 2008.
The only way we could have won this series is by playing really defensive like we did in the first 2 rounds but it seems players thought it was ''JUST'' the flyers so they could try and put on a show... the problem is the Flyers played the same kind of defense Montreal did before and capitalized on scoring chances. On paper, the Flyers have a better team than the Penguins and a wayyy better defence than the Caps... their only problem was their goaltender but by playing good defensively, they didnt really have to worry about that.
However, thanks to the players for this wonderful post-season, you really rocked!
We're really 1 player away from being a top-tier team when everyone is healthy, so lets hope a Nathan Horton is coming our way!
