It seems like in this thread, winning is all that matters in regards to being the "Mecca" of hockey.

Is hockey even the most popular sport in Detroit? And in the 80's, their attendance was horrible. Let's see how they do when they don't win every season.

This. winning as nothing to do with it. Florida could win 5 straight cups it still isnt going to be anyhwere near the hockey mecca

Its definetely Toronto or Montreal based on how you wanna look at it. I still say saskatchewan, for most fans and players per capita but with no NHL team no one is going to agree with me, lol
