The kids wheels and shot are stupidly good! Hopefully he can handle the physicality in the NHL. Has a chance to be something very special.

I didn't, I just don't value it at all and I don't count it as a part of the post-season. I consider it to be a part of their summer vacation. That's how most of them play in that game anyway. I think they should get rid of it. Nobody even cares if they lose it.

I think/know Lukko fans will be mighty pissed off if they don't even get a medal out of this season.

I saw Vatanen back in 2008 and he had a fair ammount of bite to his game for his size. Does that still hold true?

This article says that he has gained some more height, can anyone confirm it?

Pituutta venynyt, mutta varsin hoikalta näyttävä Sami Vatanen myöntää auliisti, että hänen pitää vielä rakentaa kehoaan NHL-mittoihin.
Rought translation: He has gotten some more height, but slim looking Sami admits that he still needs to add more bulk to his body to reach the NHL-standards.

According to iltasanomat and the interview with Vatanen. He said that he is now 179cm. So that's what 5'11 or so.

Thanks, good for him, add some bulk to that and he will have good chance to play the NHL someday.

Going to be worth the wait for this kid. Him and Schultz will compete for a spot in a year I think.

Visnovsky - Lydman
Fowler - Beauchemin
Sbisa - Shultz/Vatanen

Thats a lot of fire power if Shultz and Sami can translate to the NHL game. The Ducks backend has a bright future.

Will Beauchemin still be there in a year or two when Vatanen arrives?

I think Murray will re-sign Beauch this time around. He knows the system, likes playing here and is a leader on our defense. He will be a good mentor to Vatanen if he can make the team.
