Foxconn Employees Have To Sign a Contract Promising They Wont Commit Suicide

2. In terms of my own responsibilities, if I have great difficulties or frustrations I will reach out to relatives to resolve them or report them to the company director, I will also agree to contact and communicate with colleagues, personal staff and relatives. However, I will not harm myself or others; I agree that, in order for the company to protect me and others, it can send me to a hospital should I exhibit abnormal physical or mental problems.
So not only do Foxconn employees have to sign that Foxconn cant be sued, but that Foxconn is allowed to send them to a hospital.

Glad I don't live there... jeez.

Odds are they would sue their family or something similar. Which is a pretty good motivation for someone not to kill themselves I imagine. Unless they really hate their family.

Apparently they've now installed nets around the building and dormitory. If it wasn't so horrible I'd laugh at the ridiculousness of that.

Foxconn makes stuff for Apple, HP, Dell, among others. They are a massive company, around 800k employees and the CEO even had to show off the facility to prove it's not a sweatshop (they have a pool lol).

I know Apple routinely sends inspectors to overseas plants such as Foxconn, and Dell/HP also have something similar going.

Hilarious in a sick, twisted way, to say the least. Rumour has it the management style is very stressful there...when you're a major supplier of those 3 guys, I can't imagine what kind of pressure/stress management puts on the workers.

I'd hate to see what the consequences for breach of contract are.
