Who will Steve Yzerman choose as a head coach???

Start taking guesses now???

My guess is Paul MacLean presently assistant coach of Detroit. He has coached the PP with stars like Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Rafalski, Holmstrom.........and he has worked directly with him over the past 5 years

I would really like Guy Boucher(head coach of Hamilton Bulldogs) because he is really good with young players, i hear, and he is french CDN so he can relate to VL4 and MSL

There is talk that he wants a real job and i would like him here

Three independent NHL sources have told The Dispatch that Tampa Bay GM Steve Yzerman will request permission from Buffalo to interview Dineen within the next few days, that he has a keen interest in the former Blue Jackets player and development coach. Dineen, who has declined comment throughout the month-long search, has not returned phone messages left from The Dispatch in recent days.

Yzerman did mention he was interested in someone with head coaching experience.
My thoughts are he will chase Scott Arniel as one of his primary candidates, Arniel is a very good coach and comes from a head coaching factory in Manitoba.

Heard Larry Robinson is very interested in the job. This was pre Stevie Y. No idea if it was mutual from the Bolts, or if he would be a good fit.

He lives in the area, so at least he'd have an easy commute

Guy Boucher would be a great choice for you guys . he was in the rumors , yesterday , as a possible coach for TB . They talk about him a lot on RDS and i'm not sure if there's a place for Boucher with the Habs anymore . Not after the playoff Jacques Martin just had . I wouldnt be surprise to see Boucher working for another NHL team , next season .

someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Gerard Gallant failed miserably in his first gig as an an nhl coach. I like the Kevin Dineen idea, great player (tons of heart) and has been extremely succseeful in the AHL.

Anybody that doesn't have ties to Montreal or Toronto or can possibly involve the word "Lecavalier" or "Kaberle" at anytime in the conversation.......Kevin Dineen sounds good...

One of these three IMO(no order):

1. Dineen
2. Gallant
3. Boucher

Scott Arniel wouldn't be a bad choice, assistant coach of the Sabres, won the AHL coach of the year in 2009 and lead the Moose to the finals. But I want a coach thats good with the young guys, I would go after Anderson, won 2 IHL and AHL titles with the same team, when he left, they missed the playoffs and he got the Thrashers a little higher and is good with the young guys. Bob Woods never missed the playoffs once when he was head coach in every team, fact, when he was named assistant coach of Washington he helped get them up a little higher in the standings en route to the Presidents Trophy, also lead Hershey to the Calder Cup in 2009.

My top three are

1. Anderson
2. Woods (Capitals Assistant Coach)
3. Arniel
