He's the definition of a powerforward.

Seriously though... I think that Chris Stewart is the best Power Forward in the game right now, at the age of 22! I can't think of a b better one...

The kid fights heavy weights (But is a respectful fighter), is fast, has great hands... He scored 28 goals and got 64 points in just 77 games this season...

Seriously, If I had the opportunity to acquire Bobby Ryan or Chris Stewart... I'd have to think long and hard to pick one (Bobby Ryan got 35 goals and 64 points in 81 games this year and is 23). Stewart is one of the main type of player this team is missing.
I agree. (Although I take Ryan easily). Wanted him over Tlusty. Just don't see it happening, and don't want to get my hopes up unfortunately.

Bobby Ryan is a power forward. Maybe Kessel can talk to him and tell him how great toronto will be soon. I still want this guy.

Steve Yzerman's first Cup came at age 32.

Took him 14 years to become an overnight leader.

Toronto-Buffalo

Hi everyone I'm new to the forum so this may end up being bad. These trades have been tossed around a bit on the main board but I figured I'd get a leaf fans opinion on it.

To Toronto:
Tim Connoly
2010 2nd or 3rd round pick

To Buffalo:
Tomas Kaberle
Mid-Level Prospect

OR

To Toronto:
Jason Pominville

To Buffalo:
Tomas Kaberle
Mid-Level Prospect

Thoughts?

No.

Connolly is just way too injury prone, and Pomminville is just a good 2nd liner making almost as much as Kessel.

you know what would be nice haha not goin to happen but i would do it
to Edmonton:kaberle,kulimin,kadri,3 round pick 2010
to tor:souray 1 overall
then trade down to boston picking up a few early picks and select seguin 2nd overall he is goin to be a player. hopfully we could select macfarline and kabanov with the picks we could get out of trading down. dont bite my head of just think it is possible and maybe worth it to edmonton they clearly could trade cogs or another player to recoup late 1 st

Do you mean Malkin + 1st

or

Malkin + Crosby?

I wouldn't trade either of those two for that puck hogging, cherry picking, loud mouth, no show Jones, sob. "uh uh I don't know what to say uh uh uh" LOL

If I was offered Ovechkin for Crosby straight up, I'd do it instantly.

I'll get killed for saying this, but Malkin is better than Crosby, and I'm not sure I'd trade him for anyone but maybe Drew Doughty. Though, Jonathan Toews has been forcing his way on there since the Olympics.

As for the OP... I'm warming up to Frolov. That's also the type of signing we go for. That sorta second-tier UFA. Frolov's also big and puts the puck in the net. $4 million? Eh... I'd do it.

I love the Connolly idea, but i'm easily the minority. I'd actually take a chance on Connolly. With his injury history, we can add more pieces coming our way. Something like Connolly+Stafford+1st could be done.

As for Pominville, i'd be interested in him if we didn't have Kessel. He makes way too much to be playing in our second line.

...but yeah, stupid question. It isn't like he was traded years ago. He was traded with an injury, and has shown that he can match the same production as before the injury and without the almighty (not good enough for team Canada) Savard. If anything his value has gone up, since it's obvious the injury didn't ruin his shot like some people were suggesting might happen.

Just imagine after an actual off season of training?

If Carter is offered for Kaberle again you take it and run. Even if you have to overpay a little more the next time around.

TSN.CA: reports Russian website SKA St. Petersburg reportedly made a three-year, $30 million offer to Ilya Kovalchuk, as well as an offer to LA Kings forward Alexander Frolov. Sources claim however Kovalchuk's first choice is to play in the NHL but Kings GM Dean Lombardi isn't optimistic over re-signing Frolov, who like Kovalchuk will be an unrestricted free agent.

SPECTOR'S NOTE: Kovalchuk apparently is more interested in long-term security. Frolov meanwhile is believed seeking over $5 million per season which he might not find in the NHL.
