With the continuing threat of Global warming becoming more a reality, the shrinking of the polar ice caps and ever rising sea levels worldwide, I forsee that within the next 5-10 years, ice, such as that which forms our local rinks and hockey arena's will become such a valued commodity, that it will be chopped up and sold to the highest bidder.
Dean Lombardi, who is known to expel voluminous hot air gases by not being able to answer a simple question in under 8 full paragraphs, will be legislatively limited to no more than 6 words in any given minute, but will still manage to confound interviewers by never answering any question directly.
Tim Lie-weekly will formally change his name, to Tim Lie-monthly, but only because his opportunites to open his mouth and insert his foot have tailed off because no one wants to listen anymore.
Phillip Anshutz will finally make a public appearance in support of his team, and congratulate David Beckam on his newly signed $500MM contract.
AEG, having developed all of downtown east through to AZUSA, turning it into one giant comercial entertainment megasite, with more theatres and concert venues per acre than ther used to be lemon and orange trees on that same land will begin buying all the land surrounding Tijuana, and campaigning for its cessation from mexico and ultimate inclusion in the USA as South San Diego County, claiming that it is primed for the next major development.
And within the next 5-10 years the Kings will continue to be a team poised on the brink, full of potential, and without a Stanley Cup. . . . ,
If he plays like he did in the playoffs all next season and then again in next years playoffs, I definitely would. In the playoffs he was strong, I don't think his regular season last year was at that level at all. I want to see a little more from him is all.
Kopitar, Doughty, Brown, and Simmonds should all be "locks" to be here in five years given their roles/contract situations. Assuming Bernier isn't a bust I'd add him to that list. I'd like Johnson to sign a 4-5 year contract and be here a while, and nobody really knows what will happen with Schenn but it'd be nice if he was still here too.
But it's hard to say, especially when you consider that Brown is the only player on the kings now that was on the kings 5 years ago (assuming Frolov isn't re-signed)
Bernier/Quick (Think it will be Bernier)
Schenn (Expect him to develop into a great 2nd line center)
Hickey (No doubt will be atleast a solid top 4 d-man, more of a 3)
Voynov (Same as Hickey)
Trebuert (Bottom pairing force, maybe 2nd pairing)
Clifford (No reason not to think he won't be a 3rd liner)
Moller (I think this kid is still special, he will put on the muscle)
Lombardi's Box is filled with
0-0-0 Who really cares?
