I was Just was taking guys off the top of my head. But Langenbrunner should have came to mind right away.

I think Team Minnesota would beat almost every state. Maybe Mass. and Michigan would give Minny a run for their money.

Since you've all been waiting patiently, here's TEAM NEWFOUNDLAND:

Dan Cleary - Jason King - Michael Ryder
Darren Langdon - Daniel Ryder ('05 eligible) - Terry Ryan (currently playing in the NF senior hockey league)

John Slaney - ???
??? - ???

???

Hmmm, two lines and a single Dman... I could've toss out a few old retired guys like Keith Brown and (gasp) Alex Faulkner, but I figured I should cut my losses and stop here.

I know one has been posted, but here is an alternative for team Alberta;

Smyth, Comrie, Iginla
Whitney, Langkow, Heatley
Isbister, Reinprecht, Doan
Tucker, Scatchard, Lupul
extras - Chimera, Lundmark, Linden

Niedermayer, Souray
Bouwmeester, Stuart
Sydor, Smith
extras - Matvichuk, Morris, Phillips

Osgood, McClennan

Druken!!!

The only reason I remembered he is a Newfie, was because the Canucks always only have one Newfie at a time

Langdon replaced Druken, King replaced Langdon.

Aw geez, I knew I'd forget someone! And he plays local (St. John's Leafs) to boot! Shame on me.

We really need a goalie though. Cleary is having real trouble beating the shooter tutor. He needs a compassionate keeper who will let one by him on purpose every so often.

(reserve: David Ling, SIDNEY CROSBY!!)... I'd also try to convince Mike McPhee and Bobby Smith to come out of retirement!

Defense:
Al MacInnis - Colin White
Derrick Walser - Eric Boulton
(reserve: Dean Melanson)

Goalie:
Olaf Kolzig (since Pokey and Wendell don't play anymore I claim him in the name of Dartmouth, NS Midget AAA!... he played there before New Westminster, WHL)
Since I personally hate Craig Hillier and he hasn't played NHL yet, I can't use him. Maybe we could drag Troy Gamble out of his ditch somewhere.

GM/Coaches:
Bobby Smith, with Mike McPhee and Norm Ferguson assisting

I'd put those two lines against any two from Ontario! :lol

(edit: I'd rather put together a Halifax Mooseheads alumi team than this one... Tanguay, King, Abid, Shelley, Jurcina, Reid, Nagy, Giguere, etc)

while there isn't enough from mich. playing right now to field a team, the recent past does hold a decent team, i'm talking 80's - present

Mike York - Mike Modano - Adam Hall
Brian Rolston - Doug Weight - Kevin Miller
Jimmy Carson - David Legwand - Mike Grier
Jim Cummins - Kip Miller - Kelly Miller

Derian Hatcher - Brian Rafalski
Al Iafrate - Mark Howe
Adam Burt - Kevin Hatcher

John Vanbiesbrouck

Ryan Miller

not too shabby of a team IMO

Jason Blake (he grew up in Grand Forks until he was 11)
David Tanabe lived here for awhile, too. His dad is a dentist here still.
uh...that's about it. Several AHL players from the state, though.

Now, if we were making up an All-Star team of players who have PLAYED in the state, it's be a stacked team!

Ealier on this thread I stated that we could come up with 3-teams for Ontario........

1) Ontario North
2) Ontario South
3) Metro Toronto

I looked up the players last night and came up with the 3-teams but unfortunately the paper I wrote it down in is at home and I'm pecking away here on my keyboard at the College.........I'll be sure to come back tomorrow with the listing of players for the 3-Ontario based teams.

Cheers!~

The list seems preety good.
How about Todd Gillingham. He enjoyed some time as a Baby Leaf.
And how about the Newfie that got selected 21st overall in the OHL Draft this year. Can't remember the name though.

If i had to put a Newfoundland into, lets say a Provincal Pro Hockey Tourney then heres my forwards
Daniel Ryder - Jason King - Michael Ryder
Daniel Cleary - Harold Druken - Darren Langdon
Ryan Clowe - Jason Morgan - Mark Chaplin
Dwayne Norris - Derrick Kent - Todd Gillingham
(Can't rmember some, there are a few decent ones in Europe and in the ECHL)

We would have 3 good D(Slaney, O'Brien, Brown). We wolud just pick up a few drunks along the way and give them a stick and a pair of skates and let em go
