I'll tell ya, I've seen a lot of coaches in my day but never one as this.. He seems to be a simple guy at times but if you watch closely when a hard ball question comes his way he shifts gears into serious knowlege.
I like so far, the true test will be the team reaction after their first Noel loss..if they come back and play well without skipping a beat we could have a head coach for the future.
So, I like delving into personality types, particularly the Myers Briggs idea.
I think we've gone from an ENTJ to an E S/N FP.
For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about...
I think this describes Hitch pretty well (at least what we've seen)
Frank, decisive, assume leadership readily. Quickly see illogical and inefficient procedures and policies, develop and implement comprehensive systems to solve organizational problems. Enjoy long-term planning and goal setting. Usually well informed, well read, enjoy expanding their knowledge and passing it on to others. Forceful in presenting their ideas.
Whereas Claude is one of these...
Outgoing, friendly, and accepting. Exuberant lovers of life, people, and material comforts. Enjoy working with others to make things happen. Bring common sense and a realistic approach to their work, and make work fun. Flexible and spontaneous, adapt readily to new people and environments. Learn best by trying a new skill with other people.
Warmly enthusiastic and imaginative. See life as full of possibilities. Make connections between events and information very quickly, and confidently proceed based on the patterns they see. Want a lot of affirmation from others, and readily give appreciation and support. Spontaneous and flexible, often rely on their ability to improvise and their verbal fluency.
Well, for one thing... In a real short time period Claude Noel has brought a lot of joy to Jackets fans. Amazing stuff happening right now and the games are absolutely blast to watch. You can just see so clearly how the players enjoy doing their job now!
But just three games in it's impossible to tell how this will turn out. I really, really hope though that this would be our path as Noel seems to be just freakin' awesome to listen. Hopefully his strategies are up to task in long term too.
