You wouldn't be the first to try it, haha.

The included stick that comes with the game works great, so give that a try.

This brings up an interesting question, will Slapshot have fighting at all? If you have your Wii Remote and Nunchuck in the stick, then how would you be able to fight? Plus, I can't imagine EA would put fighting in the bantam/midget leagues.

It seems the broken sticks and the jumping-over-defenseman thing are in there too.

Edit: And a video from E3

Looks fun.

The above video from E3, plus a preview clip put together by EA from the studio.

Less excited, it does play like a more realistic Hitz.

It'd be interesting if both versions came out for the PS3...

After watching those videos again I've come to the conclusion that Slapshot will be like Wii Sports for me, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. It'll be fun to play as a family or when friends come over for a game, but it will probably stay put away a majority of the time. In other words, much like Sports it'll be a harmless, casual game that will be played once in a blue moon (if I do get it at all).

On a side note, if the game only comes with one stick, how much fun will the players without a stick have? I really don't think I'm going to plunk down (I'm just guessing here) another $5 to $10 a piece for extra foam sticks.

Well the Wii is mainly for kids, and kids are going to love a game like that. 8-12 year olds don't want a sim game, they want a game will they go out and destroy people on the ice.

graphics and gameplay look horrible. Looks too arcade-like.

Would never pay for this. Then again I'm not stupid enough to own a wii in the first place.

What's with Richards, Pronger and Carle all being righthanded in the game?!?! LOL.

Looks like another kids game on the Wii. Interesting concept but I'm sure it will get old fast and won't have any substance to fall back on.

Supposedly it's all relative to the person playing. One of the trailers had Crosby playing right handed as well.

I pretty much agree except I don't think it'll get old as in, I'll get sick of it and never play it again, old. More like, "Well thats was fun for 30 minutes, maybe I'll play again in a couple of months," type of thing.

You can create a player in the peewee-to-pro mode.

Gretzky is our player's mentor when he is not the player himself. He gives tips. The game seems beginner-friendly a lot.

if nhl 11 had these graphics i would be happy. the guys look relative to the ice size. unlike nhl 10 where 5 guys fill the whole blue line.

Yes. The whole point of the Wii is to appeal to non-gamers. Kids already play video games and they don't have money.

I'm sorry that you need gore to feel like an adult.
