The POV fighting is awful too. If a dude gets tagged in the face in a fight, it's a huge deal (irl), but in the game, both guys can get 3-4 face shots in and their health bar simply goes down. It's a gimmick because when it was released they were like "OH YEAH WE MADE POV FIGHTING AND IT'S AWESOME".
This brings up an interesting question, will Slapshot have fighting at all? If you have your Wii Remote and Nunchuck in the stick, then how would you be able to fight? Plus, I can't imagine EA would put fighting in the bantam/midget leagues.
The above video from E3, plus a preview clip put together by EA from the studio.
Less excited, it does play like a more realistic Hitz.
After watching those videos again I've come to the conclusion that Slapshot will be like Wii Sports for me, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. It'll be fun to play as a family or when friends come over for a game, but it will probably stay put away a majority of the time. In other words, much like Sports it'll be a harmless, casual game that will be played once in a blue moon (if I do get it at all).
On a side note, if the game only comes with one stick, how much fun will the players without a stick have? I really don't think I'm going to plunk down (I'm just guessing here) another $5 to $10 a piece for extra foam sticks.
What's with Richards, Pronger and Carle all being righthanded in the game?!?! LOL.
Supposedly it's all relative to the person playing. One of the trailers had Crosby playing right handed as well.

I pretty much agree except I don't think it'll get old as in, I'll get sick of it and never play it again, old. More like, "Well thats was fun for 30 minutes, maybe I'll play again in a couple of months," type of thing.
