It makes me sad how bad Parent has been. I thought he was very promising. Oh well. Maybe next year?

I would try this out

Gagne-Richards-Carcillo
Leino-Briere-Hartnell
Carter-Giroux-Asham
Lappierre-Betts-Powe

Something like that would be interesting.

+/- is the most overrated stat in hockey.

Pronger is what a -1 so far in the playoffs and hes being mentioned as a Conn Smythe candidate if the Flyers win the Cup.

Lavy has stated he likes Bartulis alot. He had a pretty good concusion a couple months ago. He is young, just was given a contract extension, why rush him back into anything when there are other pieces that can be played, and they were. Now he is up. I guessing Parent is hurt again. He seems brittle or just really really bad luck. I wonder how Krajiack is feeling after Burish boarding the **** out of him.

Carcillo in for JVR, Id rather have Carcillo in but not for JVR. JVR sitting one game isn't the end of the world but id rather sit Lappy. Lappy just isnt up to speed yet. I know hes slow but damn he wasn't doing **** game 1. Hopefully his legs are under him and ill eat some crow after this one.

Dont understand why anyone would want to bench asham.
I love JVR, but here he is scratched while Kane is a superstar.
Stupid lottery

I hope Asham and Carcillo don't go on the same line.

Gagne-Richards-Carcillo
Hartnell-Briere-Leino
Asham-Giroux-Carter

Maybe?
It is hard to scratch Asham right now. He has produced these last 2 games and showed some offensive flare.

It hurts, but it was the right move. Hopefully JVR takes it like a man and learns from this.

I just love Lavi. It takes guts to do this but it's absolutely the right move. JvR is a bit like a deer in the headlights out there and I think this new top line is going to be awesome. All 3 are hitters, Carter especially has been impressive in that department because it's not something he does a lot of, and they should strike some fear into the Hawks top line.

I like Dan in IF he's not invisible! He better bring something positive tonight.

No way in hell do you sit Ashem.

JVR sits, period.

That is SO PERFECT!!! JVR deserves to be sit down, he deserved it more than Carcillo. Carcillo is going to be a huge upgrade for speed and work ethic. Parent played 30 seconds last game and was a -1 on the game winner. He has to sit, plus Bartulis is on this team next year and should get a look.....not like Parent or Krajicek are doing anything to warrant staying in the lineup. Give the kid a shot. I LOVE THIS COACH!!!

Asham is playing like a vet who might never be in this situation again, and is making the most of it

while I agree that Parent needs to sit, I dont agree that swapping out JVR for Carcillo is a perfect move. What do you do if Carcillo crosschecks Kane out of frustration in a tie game late and they score?
I realize it is a fine line in doing something like this. You just hope that Carcillo can walk that fine line and doesnt cross the line into doing something stupid.
I do agree you cannot sit Asham. He has been fantastic.

I would like to see this as well. That said, I would have preferred JvR staying and Powe being the one scratched. As someone said earlier in this thread, he gives us nothing outside of the pk.

Bart should have been back in the lineup a while ago.

I like JVR, but he has been brutal. Nobody else deserves to sit. Lines look like this, Carter should play right wing:

Gagne-Richards-Carcillo
Hartnell-Briere-Leino
Asham-Giroux-Carter
Laps-Betts-Powe

I love it. Carter with Giroux and Asham could be a huge upgrade!

Carcillo on the 1st line? how is he deserving of that?

B-E-A-Utiful.

Maybe not so much on the JVR front, but on the Parent front, DEFINITELY.

Hopefully Parent has played his last 41 seconds with this team. (Or spends all of next season with the Phantoms to regain any confidence he once had and lost at best).
