Not if he's a number 1 center, we want him to play with Nash.

We won't have to cuz he's gonna sign there anyway.

Not sure why you want to compare Stralman to Kaberle as I don't think anyone here has done so. There are too many Leafs fans that can't think outside the blue and white box. Of course Kaberle is better than Stralman but the reality is you have to take into account more than one factor when determining a trading partner. No one here (aside from Mt SVK ) will argue with you that KAberle would be a good fit for Columbus. He's a great player but Columbus isn't going to offer our 1st round pick or a top flight prospect (read Filatov) for Kaberle given the details that Palinka has pointed out. Having 1 year of Kaberle and losing a long term asset makes no sense for Columbus. Come back after July 1st when we can negotiate a new deal and make the deal contingent on signing an extension.

Sounds silly right? Not for us. That is what would likely need to be the approach. Other teams would be happy with 1 year of Kaberle and would offer more.

Does that clear it up for you? It's not a Stralman KAberle debate. I would gladly call Toronto and offer Stralman straight up for Kaberle. it would be a short call but if it doesn't mean it couldn't be made. Most GM's are smart enough to realize you don't make that call because it's a waste of time!

Play a lot of fantasy hockey, do you? You might want to take a look at how trades work in the real world someday.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
