So what do you think of him guys ? A lot of ppl around the net says he may have a chance to play NHL next year. He had a big year.
''Year in Review: Ritchie had one of the top breakout seasons of any NHL prospect. Ritchie has always possessed size and tools, but he had yet to put it all together. He did that last season.''-Corey Pronmann
Is he ready ?What's his potentiel ceiling and his chances of reaching it ?

I think he might be a kind of Max Pacioretty. Anyone agree ?

I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled a Jamie Benn, has an amazing training camp and preseason and makes the team. However, that probably isn't likely. I think he will spend the majority of the season in the AHL then next season become a full-time Dallas Star.

It would be awesome if he could do that, but I agree. I also think its much safer to let him get a good feel for the pro game in the AHL. It wouldnt shock me if he did make the NHL, but I wouldnt put money on it.

He was one of the guys I wanted the Canucks to get in 2011, too bad it didn't happen. Overall 2011 looks extremely strong

There's not really any room for him even if he does have a tremendous camp, unless he takes the spot of Chaisson to the AHL or Nichushkin to the KHL. I'm perfectly fine with him spending a year in the AHL and developing instead having a Benn-like rise to the NHL. If the Stars play their cards right they could have the best wingers in the league in a few years (Benn, Nichushkin, Chaisson, Ritchie, Stransky, Guptill).

Ok so you all think he will be a 60-70 pts guy at the next level like Benn?!
Well i personnaly think that Benn may easily reach the 80-85 pts but anyway..

I think a realistic projection for Ritchie would be a 30-25 kind of guy down the road, who puts up 35 goals in a career year, all while bringing good physicality

Basically 30-30 guy, or James Neal if he weren't playing with Crosby/Malkin. Playing with the right center he could exceed that.

Nobody really talks about Brett very much, it seems like it's his brother Nick getting all the love. Looks like Brett had a real solid rookie season in the AHL and is doing well in Calder Cup playoffs. I feel he is a very underrated prospect. Have many people seen him play live? how was his season? A lot of Stars fans have him pencilled into the Stars lineup next season

The Texas Stars are really making him work for it. He is playing third line and being a very productive player there. He has improved his skating and his timing offensively. If he keeps it up he can be a very good second line power guy very soon. His ceiling is probably 65 on an up year, 50 pt floor in his prime.

Very tough and strong along the boards and down low. He has pretty good speed and decent vision with an elite shot. His defensive game needs some work, but it isn't terrible.

I don't see anyway he isn't on Dallas next year. Currently he is better than Chiasson.

I just noticed in 2 games he has 2 points, nice start to his NHL career. I am surprised this thread has so little posts, he had a pretty good last season in the OHL

As an Islanders fan I always wanted us to try get him after the season him and Strome had a few years back, I probably can put that on the very unlikely list now

As I said I am very surprised how little posts this thread has but I did see another thread that is 2 pages
