game 3 changes:

what would YOU do if you were laviolette?

Gagne-Carter-Richards
Hartnell-Briere-Leino
JVR- Giroux- Asham
Lappy- Betts- Carcillo

Pronger-Carle
Timonen- Parent
Coburn-Kracjiek

Leighton

why?
gagne: played well towards the end of the game (with carter and richie who have great chemistry)
JVR: although people don't give him credit he ups girouxs game big time
Asham: i wouldnt mind switching him and carcillo
Carcillo: either have him play on our super 4th line or try and mix him up with ROO

Parent: better than bartulis (is parent injured?)
Coburn: had a great game 2, but kracjiek and our 6th just cant be on the ice together, coburn should think of this as a chance to take on more responsibility

On the PP:
move richie to the point, what we are doing hasnt been working
take hartnell OFF the PP (even though i think he had a goal in game 1)
PP1 Gagne Briere Leino
PP2 Giroux Carter JVR

PPD1 Richards Pronger
PPD2 Timonen Carle

well, thats what I would change in terms of lines, thoughts, opinions, preferences?

Gagne - Richards - Carcillo
Leino - Briere - Hartnell/Carter
JVR - Roo - Carter/Hartnell (I want more offense with them)
Powe/Asham - Betts - Lappy (Powe and Asham split time and Powe plays on the kill)

Carle - Pronger
Coburn - Kimmo
Bart - Parent
Krajicek

Leights

Go back to the offense lines we had before

Gagne-Richards-Carter
Leino-Briere-Hartnell
JVR-Giroux-Asham
Powe-Betts-Lappy

Carcillo

Parent has been horrendous this postseason, leave Bartulis in.

Carle-Pronger
Timonen-Coburn
Bartulis-Krajicek

I'm a bit sketchy on having Krajicek in there, but other than that, I agree completely with these lines.

Yea even I agree on the Krajicek part. He has been really shaky. But I guess you pick the lesser of two evils on the 3rd pairing. Parent has been pretty bad, which is seen in his like 2 mins of playing he was getting per game

Like these changes. Won't be as big a deal now that we're at home, but I'd prefer that the 3rd pair isn't out there together, keep them split up for the 7 min they play each with one of the studs.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I really like the way Asham has played in the first two games. He's been very involved and noticeable out there. No way I sit him if I'm Laviolette.

I don't see Parent re-entering this series unless someone gets hurt. Bartulis played pretty good last night.

Bartulis played a pretty solid game, Krajicek was just average. I'd almost consider shortening the rotation as in game 1 where they play the big four and then use Bartulis as the guy to spell them with Krajicek playing as a depth guy only.

Leighton back in net, no question, he gave them a chance to win.

I wouldn't mind seeing Briere and Carter switch places. Briere on the right wing of the top line, Carter with Hartnell and Leino. Hartnell and Leino are doing great in puck battles, Carter gives them another player with size and loads of skill to start finishing some opportunities. Briere can roam a little more playing with the top skill line. I'd like to see some plays where he sneaks around the goal line on the power play, that was his meal ticket in 2008 and this year we have not seen it.

Shoot for that far pad and crash the opposite side of the net! Got some chances doing that yesterday but no goals.

Have Lavi beat it into their heads that they need to play the way they did in the 3rd for the remainder of the series, which if they did, would only go 4 more games. That is all.

IMO pronger can ease up on byfuglien...he needs to stop hossa from chilling behind the net, he's got that monster reach and someone needs to do it BC all of Chicago is burning us outside then going behind the net

Parent is currently horrific. Back surgery will do that to you. No way you reinsert him given how well Bart played last night. Krajicek needs to simplify his game and play better around net.

You certainly keep Briere's line in tact, I would put them together on the PP also. Leino and Briere are both very good down low. I would stack the other PP with Richards at the point and then Gagne Carter Giroux up front with Richards and Pronger on the blue line. Only issue with that is Chicago is dangerous short handed.

Defensively I think they need to just use home ice to their advantage and spot shift the 5th and 6th defenders. Put Carle and Coburn together for a shift here and there and spot Bartulis with Timonen and Pronger.

Bartulis was good last night. He gave you everything you would want from a 3rd pairing defenseman. Didnt do anything that wow'd anyone, just played a good safe game. Whenever he got the puck he always made the safe correct play and never seemed to panic.
Krajicek on the other hand sucks. Pretty sad you would want him in there over Parent who has been brutal so far in the playoffs for the most part.
Carcillo didnt do much for me last night after the 1st period. I would probably leave him in there and put JVR in for Powe who hasnt done a thing.

JVR for Powe
Danny Syvret making a big return?

And no reason to scratch Asham. Also, if you didnt notice, the Flyers arent even using Powe on the PK... Its Betts/Lappy and Richie/Giroux. Why have a guy with no offensive ability when you can put Carcillo on the 4th line (has some talent)

Also, no way would I take Asham out of the lineup. He's been one of our most effective guys out there.

ashams been good, but we cant NOT have JVR in for wednesday, if it means ashy is out i'd do it...but hopefully it just means powe is out.

i'd rather see carcillo with giroux and JVR than asham, but the difference is small.

gagne needs to go back with richie/carter since they do a lot of work, and while he wont WORK for the puck, when it comes to him, he can SCORE.

im not worried about our Dfense for home games, since we will obviously mix and match when we can to ease pronger/kimmo
BUT away games, we simply cant have bart/krajciek/parent all alone with hossa, its just not even funny ESPECIALLY in the 2nd period, that was amateur last night.

side note:
i wouldnt mind roo taking a shift or two with briere/leino

giroux-briere-leino, i'd bet MONEY that line would be rocking ROCKING after a few mins together.

I don't care for Krajck. He's UFA in the summer right? Avoids contact, turns the puck over, what's not to like
