Look back where I said this had bad juju written all over it in the first place anyways. Moss was QUOTED as saying before the preseason even began that he wanted out of New England and to a bigger market where he could basically pimp himself out for endorsements because he knew that was going to be where his money maker was. As the big Belli even said, there was no issues with Randy and the trade was simply business. That should of showed you he was only traded because Minnesota gave them what they wanted and believed that Randy wasn't going to be a key to winning the Superbowl this year (IIRC New England has the best record).
Now, I don't know how many of you had the displeasure of meeting this tool, but he came into Best Buy in Maple Grove back in 2001 when I was still working there. We sent a really cute girl to talk to him and see if he wanted any help. She was cut off midsentence by one of his "entourage" and told that no one spoke to Randy unless he spoke to them first and they'll just look around to see what he wants and come and find someone then. I thought she was going to cry after this crap. Even when Culpepper came in he wasn't that arrogant. Randy hated this state because it wasn't the "big life" he wanted, and it surely wasn't because he wasn't getting thrown too because Daunte loved to toss it to his ass whenever he could. You could tell he didn't want to be on the team present year because of the same things. What coach allows his WR to go and give hugs to everyone on the opposing team? Or have a convo with their head coach? Or wear a Boston Red Sox hat to his conference? He was bad mouthing everything since he basically got here too from the quotes just in the Trib. The trade was out of his control and he was doing everything he possibly could to get waived. That whole "shocked" crap his agent said to ESPN is a total fabrication because they both knew exactly what they were doing. New England gets rid of someone they wouldn't of gotten anything for in the offseason since he would of been a UFA and even got a 3rd round pick out of it, and Minnesota get crapped on again. He won't help the Titans either in that division considering its the Colts and even the Texans are stepping up. If they even make the playoffs I'd be shocked. The only reason this sucks, is it won't help Harvin get open and that was deeply needed.
In the long run, Chilli needs to get canned and it needs to happen before the offseason to send a message to the fans that Wilf does actually care about the team. At this rate its almost as if he wants to lose all the fans so he can move the team to LA without anyone even putting up a fight. Two people I know that have been die hard fans of the Vikings for decades spanning back to the 70's. Season tickets ever since. Are completely fed up with the team and have lobbied to sell their tickets for the remaining games because they can't handle this crap. There is no future for the team considering we have a 41 year old grandpa as QB that is more banged up than every other QB combined in the league at this point, and hasn't even been healthy since the first game against New Orleans. We have a WR and RB who will most likely not resign here when their contracts are up and they can leave because they are not getting either the help from the O-line to spring (Peterson was hoping for 2k yds this year and his ball control has been LIGHTYEARS better) and the other has no help on the receiving core, especially since the "star WR" decided to not get a surgery he knew he needed after the NFC Championship Game. Allen has been very ineffective this year because most teams are double covering him. The secondary is an absolute joke. The saving grace is probably Longwell. And outside of Peterson (no brainer) and Harvin, Chilli's biggest "gem" during draft day was trading all the picks to get Allen. Gerhardt is looking like a HUGE bust at this point as well.
While I would agree with almost everything you say, the bolded parts stick out to me.
First of all Rice went to 3 doctors(?) and 2 of them said he didn't need surgery. If there is a 1 in a billion chance something gets better without surgery and it won't get worse without it, you take that chance. Always. No and's, if's or but's about it. It's absolute.
How the **** does Gerhart look like a bust so far? Because he's not gaining 8 yards a carry? He's a big bruising back, that's a rookie. Who is coming in on third downs. Do you understand how hard it is for a rookie RB to come in and pick up on blitzes? He's doing a phenomenal job at it too.

Actually, when you have the $$ to make something better unless there is a severe possiblity that it could basically kill you, you should be doing it anyways. We wouldn't of had the issues we did with Gaborik if he would of gotten his surgeries immediately following hip flexor issues in 2006. We waited because it "wasn't needed" according to our docs and the Mayo. Hasn't had an issue since the surgeries to my knowledge. Same can be said with any joint issue you have. See what happens when you tear your rotator cuff and they tell you surgery isn't need and to do rehab for a couple months. It'll feel better until you tear it up again. Now its even worse than if you wouldn't of just gotten the surgery already. He's playing an impact sport. You dont' just rehab it so you can make it through the game. You'll end up like Lance Harbor from Varsity Blues getting shot up every game so you can't feel it.

What did Peterson average his rookie season? If he even catches the ball in the backfield and goes forward its a victory. However, I would probably attribute that to the offensive line sucking this year too. I would never expect a rookie back to average 8 yds a carry. But he isn't even that. He has 4 First Down this year, and only two games where he's caught more than 1 ball, and only averages about 2.5 carries a game. That is rediculous considering at this point in the season (rookie or not) he should at least be getting into some type of form just from either what Peterson is telling him they are doing, the RB coach telling him what he needs to do different, or picking up on where the blitz is coming from. This is a kid that did pretty well in a PAC10 with a USC defense (when that was still relevant) that they beat twice I believe. That is about as close to pro defense as you can get in college.
The problem isn't that Rice chose to see if it would heal on his own... the problem is, that after no progress from January through May, he STILL decided to try to let it heal on his own when at that point most doctors were saying he needed surgery! He waited until almost the end of August! So instead of being ready at the beginning or a week or two after the season began, he's only now getting within a week or two from coming back.
As for Gerhart being a bust... are you joking? You're talking about a short yardage guy who has only carried the ball 17 times the entire season. He's beed effective with the very little opportunity he's been given. I'd wait until he actually gets more of an opportunity before you go near the term bust.
Chester Taylor in his rookie year carried the ball 33 times for 122 yards with an avg of 3.7yrds/carry, with 14 receptions for 129yrds and 8 total first downs.
Gerhart through 6 games has 17 carries for 57yrds for 3.4yrds/carry and 4 first downs, and 7 receptions for 78yrds.
If the ultimate goal is for Gerhart to become Chester in his prime... looks like he's on track to me.

I'll take your point of view on it all as you are basically agreeing with me on Rice and I'll concede on Toby for now...I'm not convinced though. He doesn't look like Taylor, and wasn't Taylor not even splitting time when he was rookie? Wasn't it just Bennet or something?

Taylor wasn't here when he was a rookie, he was with Baltimore. We signed him as a free agent after the Raven's couldn't afford him anymore.
Gerhart isn't splitting time here either. Peterson is in for 3 downs more often than not this season. He's only been there for spot duty when Peterson asks to get a breather.

So what you're telling me is this coach isn't giving him reps. No way our fearless leader allows the players to do what they want! Not on this team!

I'm saying it takes more than 6 games to develop a player. As I mentioned, Taylor wasn't getting any more reps at this point of his career either. You have to give players time. Not everyone is an Adrian Peterson talent that can step in on day one and tear up the league.

SWEET! They're endzone corner 5th row
If you want to do it right, you need to go tailgating before the game! I'll be out there by 6:30am on Sunday!
How does one tailgate? Do you just show up and start drinking someone else's beer? I've literally never tailgated before. I'm dropping off the kid and bringing my future ex-wife, so I can't get hammered
BARE ESSENTIALS would be a cooler full of beer, a grill, plenty of food to cook, plenty of snacks, music and at least a football to throw around.
My group also brings a Vikings canopy (actually there are 3 of them set up side by side since we are 3 groups that combine into one large one at the lot)... and since it will be on the cooler side in the morning, we have side walls to put up and a propane heater. A fold out table, plenty of fold out chairs and a set of home made Vikings logo'd cornhole boards.
You don't have to worry about how much you drink, as you do all of your drinking before the game anyway, which saves you cash since you don't have to pay the dome prices later etc.

That is the bare essentials
I used to do everything that Talon does, plus we would get someone with an SUV and have them drive there. We zip tied a flat panel TV to back so it hung down and then plugged it into the converter box and played Madden or NCAA Football or NHL while we waited for the game to kick off.
Percy Harvin returned to Vikings practice Friday, but things did not go smoothly.
The wide receiver, who sat out Wednesday and Thursday because of an injured left ankle, got into a heated argument with coach Brad Childress when Childress questioned Harvin's effort in practice, according to sources.
Harvin, who hurt his ankle last Sunday at New England but was able to continue in the game, is listed as questionable for Sunday against Arizona, but it's expected he will try to play. He leads the team with 31 receptions.
Well what the hell the Vikes showed some heart today and came back from 14 down with 4 mintutes to go and pull it off in overtime. Only bad thing about that is Chilly will still be coach probably.
