Poll: Blues #2 Prospect

It didn't look like anyone was going to be catching Sejna between now and tomorrow morning, so I'm just going to go ahead and make the 2nd poll now.

Nobody other than myself voted for what player they'd like to see added to the poll, so I guess Bolduc wins.

My vote goes to Konstantin Zakharov. IMO, him and Belle have the most potential out of any of the Blues prospects but at this point Belle has more to learn before he'll be an NHL regular than Zak. McClement is the only other player I'd personally give consideration at #2.

Dont forget to vote for who you think should be added to the poll. Sanford gets my vote.

I voted for McClement, but Pohl could easily sneak into that spot with a great camp.

Next to be added should be Greg Black, who I think has a chance of making the Blues next year in the "pest" role...

I voted for McClemment, even though I think it'll be a while before he breaks the NHL ranks (05-06), at least if Sillinger stays with the blues next season.

My vote for which to add has to go to Robin Jonsson. He's rated the same as Backman and Belle. And if Jonsson and Belle are both as good as Backman, our D should be fine for quite a while. CUrtis SAnford (CuSa) would be next on my list.

I voted for Zakharov, and I agree that Sanford should be next to be added to the poll.

I voted for Zakharov.

Is there any way we can change his rating on the prospect page? IMO he should be listed as a 7 in the LW column(since he did make the switch over to that position over the course of the year).

I've got a sneaking suspicion that "changing the ratings" is what this series of polls is all aboot...

Unlikely, but if it is than Sanford may not be eligible...he's 24 so that might eliminate him based on HF's criteria.

that's good to hear....as a t-bird season ticket holder, I can back you up on the pest thing...portland used to hate it when greg was in their building...not only was he a pest, but he could fight and score as well

Plus Sejna won the first poll and he isn't listed as a prospect anymore.

Sejna still qualifies as a prospect under the guidelines set by HF, and IMO should have never been moved to the graduated list.

I agree.

Who, exactly, did that, anyway?

The prospect rankings are somewhat off, and the profiles are all at least five months old.

The Blues page needs an editor. Does anyone have any candidates they'd like to nominate?

1. Why is it "unlikely" that the poll results could be used to establish a new set of rankings as to who are the Blues top prospects? That format has certainly been used on other boards.

If I were editor of this board, that's probably the way I'd go about establishing the top prospect list. There are some intelligent, knowledgeable people here... why not take advantage of their intelligence and knowledge, and use their input to determine the top prospects?

2. If Sanford's ineligible for "prospect" status based on his age, so is Sejna.. both were born October 5, 1979. If the criteria is number of pro seasons, that's a different story.

What exactly would the job entail? How much time would one have to devote to the page in order to be the editor?

It's unlikely that this specific poll was done to rank the players with the intent of reranking the players. We've seen this type of poll before and the ranking do not change.

Sejna is a college graduate so he gets an additional 2 years to age 26 (or two years after graduates, whichever comes first).

Team pages no longer have editors, just writers.

I do not know who moved Sejna to the graduated list.

The most qualified person, DeGroat, has apparently been banned from the messageboards.

Sejna got removed from the page right when the organizational rankings came out. So, either they forgot to take him into account and just decided to graduate him [despite the fact he's still eligible according to HF's criteria] to 'fix' their mistake or they just didn't want to give the Blues the higher ranking that they deserved.

ANyone who's up for it, I'm not sure if you were looking for a pat on the back here, but I think you'd do a fine job.

One thing I do want to add is that I wish there would be MUCH more stories. Even if they're just a column from someone in here. Also I wish that the profiles would be updated more often. I'd love to do something like this, however am not qualified, and would not have enough down time during the next couple of months.
