lol..youre delusional if you think he'd cost that much...thats hilarious stuff ASF

Little
White
24
Vish

you wouldnt do that? we immediatley get stronger down the middle with spezza replacing pevs and pevs replacing white. Hopefully a vet UFA is signed anyways this offseason would = Little replacement...24 is a crapshoot...Vish is stuck in traffic

I WOULD do that because it doesn't involve Morin, Klingberg, Cormier or our 8th overall. The question is would Ottawa?

I wouldn't mind if we traded Vish, Espo, O' Dell -- There the prospects I would use as bait to upgrade.

I would still have to think about this because I don't think spezza fits in best here.

Bergfors- Antropov- Afinogenov(re-signed)
Kane? - Spezza - ???

Chicago isn't going to let Buff go cheap. He's got a lot of value right now and they know it.

ok good, i'd even add Espo or O'Dell to the above

who knows if ottawa would go for it but something fun to think about on June 5th and we do have the possible assets/cap space to talk about it..plus getting Spezza away from the relentless canadian markets could help him.

Spezz, Antro, Pevs, Reasoner down the middle would be a pretty formidable C lineup.

i do think Spezza could work, bergie-spezza-max..2 snipers to play with him and a bigger line of kane-antro-UFA with size? could be a nightmare to play against

I'd rather get rid of Todd White, move Little, bump Pevs down to 3rd line (where he played his best hockey) and go after a winger....Tell me this wouldn't be a good looking lineup....

Bergfors-Antropov-Afinogenov
Kane-Spezza-Versteeg/Machacek
Klingberg/Slater-Peverley-Thorburn/UFA
Boulton-Reasoner-Thorburn/Cormier/UFA

Enstrom-Kubina
Oduya-Hainsey
Bogosian-Kulda

Pavelec
Hedberg/Ellis

i like it, how would we get Steeg though? if little, white, 24, vish, espo are the pieces to obtain spezza...what does Steeg cost? our 2nd is a start + ? (they arent interested in salary obviously)..not sure we'd have the pieces.

just go UFA? stempniak? guerin? nolan?(he'd be a heck of a mentor for Kane)

bergie-spezza-max
kane-antro-stempniak?
macarthur/klingberg-peverley-machecek/thor
cormier/bolts-reasoner-machecek/thor

He was drafted as a center, but has been playing wing for most of his time in the NHL.

We all know Little isn't going anywhere. I played this game in December.

If Mahacek is on our 2nd line next year we would be the laughing stock... again. That would show how bad we did in the draft/ free agency. I don't get all this Mahacek hype. I don't ever see him being an NHLer.

well machecek wont be on the 2nd line, but as the '07 3rd rounder who has performed pretty well in his 2 AHL seasons (both 20+g, 45+pts) + a solid playoff showing he deserves to get a hard look this year for a roster spot, whether ist 3RW, 4RW or 13th F, he's earned a shot.

I wouldn't mind him taking over for Thorburn on the 4th line. Hell or even MacArthur. Thatr's if he can produce. If not send him back where he bleongs because he hasn't wowed me in his previous call ups.

2 games in the 2008-2009 trainwreck of a season, 16:23 total time on ice. 25 shifts. 1 shot. No points. Yep, that's a good sample size to determine if someone's NHL ready or not..... :

Greetings from Germany,
I'm a fan of the thrashers and this already good 3-4 years.
I would like to see Spezza in Atlanta, but I think it is unlikely.

In 2 games i highly doubt you'll get an accurate sample size of a player's true performance. PPG doesn't work as well as people assume. I think the idea of "hot streaks" are overblown. Same for cold streaks.

Try flipping a coin fifty times. If you chart out the results, I would wager that it does not look as even as you might expect. Just because it's an equal chance of heads or tails doesn't mean you neatly get heads-heads followed by tails-tails. Instead you get seemingly bizarre - seemingly streaky - patterns of, say, fourteen heads followed by a few back and forth then sixteen tails. The probabilities aren't all that different.

One game that wowed you out of two total games does not make an accurate sample size.

To hell with Spezza. Trade our 24th overall for Lapierre straight up.

The good thing is the way our cap situation is, we can collect someone with an inflated salary on the cheap.

Is that the same Maxim Lapierre that Chris Thorburn outplayed this season?

I don't think we should be giving away first round picks for 4th liners.

No to those guys please.

I hope we can get Versteeg and if we trade for Spezza, hoping our lines would look something like this:

Kane-Spezza-Little
Versteeg-Antropov-Bergfors or Afinogenov
xx-Peverley-Afinogenov or Bergfors
xx-Reasoner-xx

Something like that
