Hossa has a good attitude, what Daigle has'nt!

Hossa lack mainly confidence and determination at time, what can be improved playing with some quality vets...

If he doesn't have a heart at such a young age, it's going to be tough.

The prospects that reach the top usually have a burning desire to play in the NHL and will do anything to get there... like Michael Ryder. That's heart.

Guys like Daigle, Dagenais (w/Florida), etc... don't reach their full potential.

Thats true, but Hossa doesnt lack heart. Now his heart aint nowhere near Ryder or Koivu, but he does have heart. Like some here said, he just lacks confidence.

Its not as bad as some guys are saying IMO... Hossa work usually hard at both ends of the ice, backcheck at top speed, good positionning and nice hustle, what he needs to do more constantly is keeping his feet moving and be more involved in the neutral zone...

Hossa probably will never be as creative and as involved in the play as prospects like Perezhogin, Plekanec and Higgins for exemple.. Carrying the puck is just not one of his strenghts.. but he still can be very effective and do several things extremmely well!

Daigle on the other side was self minded and was only playing for bonus $$$

WOW!!! you must not have been watching the same bulldogs games i have been watching??
I have seen about 40 games the past two seasons + playoffs and i can't remember how many times i saw him backchecking hard. I never saw him as good in his own end of the rink.
I'd say in 35 of those games he did NOT show "nice hustle," but seemed to be floating out there on the perimeter not going to the front of the net or fighting through checks, or digging in the corner, which a man of his size should be able to do.

When Hossa works well he can absolutely dominate an AHL game,

but most nights he seems like he doesn't want to be at the arena.

Uh actually.. yes he does lack heart. That's his problem. Confidence doesn't hurt you for a whole season, or is a direct effect of a lack of heart IMO. Either that or he was misevaluated and doesn't have the smarts to play at a high level.

I'm one to think prospects shouldn't only be ranked on skills. There's other factors equally important, if not more, like mental toughness, character, determination and drive. Right now for me Hossa ranks pretty low in all these categories.

I duno, from what ive read, he lacks confidence, and yes you can lack confidence for more than a year, why not???? Have you ever heard of players having bad seasons, yes bad SEASON, thats lacking confidence my friend. It happens, and thats sports.

Next season will be his big test. IMO he played pretty decent this season when playing with the Habs, he just looked like a prospect that needed more work. He should be better next season as he was allowed to improve in some areas in Hamilton this season both mentally and in his overall game.

Again, Next season is do or die for him!

Bad season isn't lack of confidence automatically, it can be lack of work, lack of determination, being injured. I know I may not have the credibility you give to the person(let's name him X) you read saying he lacks confidence, but watch for yourself, build your own idea and you will see that there's more to that than confidence. I mean, when you can score 2 goals a game and the next 5 games you're invisible like if you're not playing, how can it be lack of confidence, it should've been boosted by a good performance. Why couldn't you say it's lack of heart? Because Mr X forgot to mention this possibility? I'm curious.

On the do or die next season, we'll agree there, and I sincerely hope he will pick up his game and everything and take an important role with the Canadiens next year. But possibilities for him are fading fast.
