Powe is a dime dozen player, if he wants any type of raise you let him walk. Just amazing watching the guy who should be in a flyers sweater scoring the winning goal to beat them while the oprize was invisible all playoffs.. another league conspiracy to keep the flyers down. Cant rag on Leighton as what did you really expect? All falls on the GM, this will just give the gm a false read on this team.

Well another dynamic due wins the cup, when will the flyers have that dynamic due? when?

Not enough height. Betts would be our tallest center.

Somebody has got to get moved if we are trying to get an decent goalie or elite goalie. Not only that we need to move some bodies to sign Giroux and JVR in the near future. Leino has been a surprise. Glad he is back on the team next year for a modest price. We need to do something about the 3rd pairing. I like Carle but i want to see him moved just because of his contract. I seen some strides in Coburns game.

We have centers Richards, Carter, Briere, Betts and even Giroux. ****, even Lappy can play center. They all need to practice taking faceoffs because they can kind of average at it but thats another story.

You do realize that we need a goalie right?

I'm a Chiefs fan, and in I think it was 1995, kicker Lin Eliott missed all 3 FG in a playoff game, including one on the last play of the game that would have won the game. On the Chiefs board I post on, his name isn't mentioned, and is referred to as He Who Shall Not be Named.

Do the same for #49

Gagne Richards Giroux
Hartnell Briere Leino
JVR Carter Legein/Testwuide (could be a big line with nice skill.)
Powe Betts Lappy

Pronger-Carle
Timo-Coburn
Barts-Parent

Biron/Turco (yes Marty Biron I actually feel he played pretty good in the playoffs and robbed a couple of shots which is something our goalies couldn't do this year.)
Boucher

I think that is most likely what we see

Man, I'm torn on Carter. Depending on who you talk to, he's had legitimate excuses the last couple of playoffs and has been our best offensive threat during the regular seasons. If we trade him we could definitely get some amazing pieces that could put us over the edge....or we could trade him and he ends up being amazing in the playoffs with some other team once he finds his playoff stride/isn't injured/finds some heart (once again, depending on who you talk to). I'm glad I don't have Homer's job.

It's simple Leighton makes that stop and plays a simple 60 more minutes, not only would he have his name on the cup, he would have been a starter in the nhl. Now he'll be a career back up making a lot less money. **** you Micheal, seriously **** YOU.

That's another we could do. It works as well. I think we can Turco for 3 to 3.5 easily and for 2 years, I think he will definitely be worth it.

I seriously wish we could somehow trade Carle and a prospect or two to Calgary for Robyn Regehr.

Pronger-Regehr
Timo-Coburn

Enough said

We can't take his salary jump over Carle. I still think Carcillo and Parent should be traded for something. Picks... something.

What's his cap hit I didn't think it was more than a mil of what Carle is at now.

I do not know about winning cup with Biron but I think he would have that last shot by P.Kane.

It's about 700K over Carle's, but I understand why he might be good to get, especially since he also hits like a freight train.

That 700k is defiantly manageable for somebody who is substantial better defensively he would be on the first pk. Although not that great of a puck handler Carle isn't on the first powerplay either so I think it would defiantly be worth it. That would give 3 shut-down d-men and one in the making.

I guess we can go back to Richards on the point with Pronger, Timonen and Coburn being the other PP blue liners?

Trade Carter. These playoffs showed the offense has better chemistry without him. With the emergence of Leino and Giroux (and eventually JVR and any other forward additions), they dont need him. Trading him clears 5 mil in cap and can get some very nice pieces in return. Keeping him keeps the offense off-balance and forces you to trade another piece for little return. So again, trade him.

Hartnell-Briere Leino
Powe-Betts-Lappy

whatever on defense

turco in net
jeff carter backing him up without pads so if turco goes down we can accept losing and watch jeff carter die

That could happen but I don't think it would because your first PP unit is Pronger-Timo so either you put Richie on your 2nd PP unit or you use somebody like Syvrett or another one of our AHLers with Couburn on the 2 PP unit.
