flyers trade proposal

let me start off by saying i am not sure how heavily you all are in love with these players...but here would be a trade i'd gladly take (as a flyers fan)

jeff carter

for

david backes
david perron
ben bishop

i think perron would be great with giroux, and backes is a player we lack this year (knuble like)

what do you all think?

jeff carter is struggling in philly now because he isnt getting the time at center he deserves. maybe he could find a home in st louis?

I'm sure you would gladly take it. How about Carter for one of those pieces an we'll talk.

I'd do Perron and Bishop for Carter. I'd even add a 2nd or 3rd in that deal.
But no way does Backes AND Perron go. If they do, you can add JVR to the deal as well.

I'd rather pursue Giroux or Richards with a package like that (yes i know they're untouchable). Carter's value is too high for the Blues to seriouly attempt in obtianing. Same with most young Flyers. IMO you guys should just roll with what you got, maybe a better goalie. Good luck in the rest of the finals, I'm pulling for Phili!

Maybe a deal around Boyes and Carter? Both may need a change of scenery. Don't know if Philly would like that. I wouldn't mind adding Bishop and something else to that deal.

Jeff Carter is a slightly better version of Brad Boyes. Blues fans understand where Flyers fans are coming from(we go through the same thing with Boyes), and because of that, there is no way Carter gets that kind of return from St. Louis.

Agreed with both points. I'd hate to see Perron go, but Perron + Bishop [+ 3rd if necessary] for Carter seems like fair value to me.

Im sorry has Carter POed you boys? This is a man who scored 46 goals last season and from what I can tell is nothing short of a 1st line center who will make the all star game every other year. I don't know why you want to move him. Is it a cap issue?

Oh and I would do that deal. I am not sure if everyone else would. (I think that you will get sent packing in the end.)

Brad Boyes scored 43 a few years ago too. Doesn't' mean we get a ransom for him.

Backes is the Blues only true power forward. They cannot afford to let him go.
