There's been so many it's hard to say and keep track of all of them. I'd put Khabibulin's point blank, skate blade save against Alexei Yashin in the first round in the top 10 at least, however. This year has definitely been one of the goaltender, well, as if most years aren't anyway. But still, some sick stuff going on around the league.

Khabibulin made about 4 against the Islanders that would be right up there. He was unbelievable that series.

Belfour's stretch back glove save against Hossa in the first round has to be up there.

While he didn't have a great playoffs (in my opinion), the toe save by Theodore on Afansenkov (sp?) in Game 2 of the second round was unbelievable. Sorry if I'm confusing the Tampa player, but I remember that he was sprung on a clear break, faked left and went right and Theodore kicked out his toe and saved an absolute sure goal...he had the entire net to shoot at.

Turco had a pretty good glove save late in game 3 vs. the Avs on Rob Blake...probably not the save of the playoffs, but still a pretty nice one.

In game six after toronto tied it up, before OT, Esche outright robbed somebody, that was the most improtant save, for me at least, this post season. He made some amazing saves in the Jersey series, and won game four on his own.

Tie Domi with about 52 seconds remaining in regulation.

Most great saves happen because the shooter didn't make a great shot.

Most great saves happen because a goalie makes a great effort and then is helped out by a less than great shot.

If a shooter makes a great shot there is NOTHING a goalie can do about it.

Yeah but why doesn't Joe shoot higher one of the reasons is the Nabby with his position has gotten in Joe's head.

I don't know if anyone else caught it, but Raycroft make an incredible save on a Perreault slapshot from 8 feet out.....
He was completely beaten, and he shot up his arm and saved it with the paddle of his stick...
I thought for sure it was a goal..

with you there, that save was amazing...what was even more amazing was that it happened so fast and still THeodore got it!

Theodore's toe(leg) save against Fedotenko in Game 3 or 4 can't remember. Fedotenko caught Theo goign side to side and Jose stuck his left leg back.

The announcer was at a loss for words "DID YOU SEE THAT, WOW!!"

Unbiased Canadian
