BBM Surveys

Has anybody ever done one of these things?

They are surveys aiming at learning your consumer habits and are around 60 pages long.

But they give you 5$ so it's all good

Why would I want to fill out a 60 page survey on the toilet?

EDIT: Wait, that was a BM survey. Never mind.

I did a survey on how much tv I watch in a week, you get this little guide book basically a blank tv guide, and you write in everything you watch, what time it's on, and who's in the room with you, for the entire week. And yeah they mailed me a crisp 5 dollar bill with the form. Not to shabby

How long ago was that cause i do not think they do that anymore.
Now they have little "black boxes" that look like pagers that you carry around and they pick up the tv and radio frequencys that are nearby to pick up what tv and radio stations you watch. not exactly sure how that all works but i have been carrying it around for a year now. depending on how much you keep it on you you get more $. Right now I get about $20 a month. i know it does not sound like much but getting $20 a month for carrying around a 'pager' is like the commercial for the credit card where the one girl is like "so you got what twenty cents back for using your card" and the other is like "yeah how much did you get?" it is not much but it pays for a meal out every now and then. plus they also give you free stuff every now and then.

I work in Radio. What you have is the PPM system, it's not the national standard as of right now. Only a few of the major markets have it at this point. In smaller markets, and some of the larger ones BBM Diaries are still the standard, but they will eventually be phased out for the PPM system.

60 pages for 5 bucks? I'm not sure how long that would take, but I can guarantee it's not worth my time.

Classless.

They're probably going to come and post 95 you for post 95ing them out of that 5 bucks.

In all seriousness though, how does one sign up for these kind of things? Right now I have no job and do university psych studies for an hour to make 10 bucks. These are right up my alley.

They wanted to give me some electronic device that would tell them what channels I was watching in order to figure out TV ratings. Got them to courier the information package three times, each time with a toonie inside it. I didn't reply to any of them .

In that case, $5 is certainly worth a couple minutes of my time.

I think they do both. They've used the black boxes for a while, but I still got a Nielsen TV form about a year or two ago. Not sure why they still use the paper ones, but unless they stopped pretty recently it's still going on.
