Um how about Jesus, and about 15 1st round picks? Plus 30 Million dollars and a pony.

The asking price for these two would be out of this world. If these two were moved it would make the Lindros deal PALE in comparison.

Jesus, 15 1st round picks, $30M and a pony sounds about right. And makes for amusing imagery.

They're as untouchable as it gets.

They're the face of the franchise. Even if there were a 'fair exchange' of assets say, that made the team an instant cup contender, you'd have to weigh the impact of losing the two players the community most identifies Atlanta hockey with.

I don't think you can do it.

ATL:
Milan Hejduk, Alex Tanguay, Ossi Väänänen, J-M Liles, Karlis Skrastins and third

COL
Ilya Kovalchuk, Dany Heatley and Garnet Exelby
Going to take a lot more than that buddy

Not even close. Add Forsberg and your entire prospect list and you still might not be able to pull it off.

Well, he's not an Avalanche fan, so let us keep Peter Forsberg and let him throw in his entire prospect list(Habs). I have no problem with that.

I see only team in the NHL that could made a realistic pitch. A trade will not happen anyway.

CLB: Ilya Kovalchuk & Dany Heatley

ATL: Rick Nash, Rusty Klesla & Nic Zherdev

We can work from here.

You really aren't very bright, are you?

I made my comment with half-sarcasm since Colorado would take that deal in a heartbeat. I thought your lack of grammar and punctuation was a result of laziness or what have you, but you really are lost.

Where does that make either better ?? No that trade would be refused by both teams >>> But it would be interesting to see which team thought longer before refusing it >>>>>>

You purposed the deal. You state what you want for Heatley and Kovalchuk.

Then posters can turn that down!

That wouldn't get either Heatley or Kovalchuk, nevermind both.

I'll post this trade before someone beats me to the punch:

to Atlanta: Hossa, Kastitsyn, Hainsey, Plecanek, Garon, 1st in 2004, 1st in 2005

to Montreal: Kovalchuk, Heatley, Lehtonen

I dont understand why Atlanta fans would want to trade Kovalchuk and Heatley for primarily prospects and picks?

My purposed deal (way off? ) atleast provides Atlanta with proven players to help them make the playoffs.

Kovalchuk on the other hand...Hamhuis, Klein and our first this year

Nash is "2 year NHL veteran".
Zherdev is no longer a NHL rookie.
Klesla has just finished his 4th season with Jackets.

No prospects, no picks.

BTW: I AM an Atlanta Thrashers Fan.

Maybe Atlanta would need to throw in a prospect to get the Preds to 'reach' and take on Heatley's head issues...

Heatley always will have issues, but he's already coping well with them now. In time, that will get even better. If the World Championships showed anything, he looks back on his old form.

But off topic a bit, I know of a die-hard Thrasher fan moving to your neck of the woods. My brother is moving to Nashville in a couple months with his new family (gonna be working at the GEC actually, he's got one hell of a hook-up at the arena). He'll be guaranteed to don his Thrasher jersey at games there, no matter who is playing. Probably hard to miss among that crowd.

Having lived there three years I can assure you your brother doesn't have anything to worry about. The crowds in Nashville are great and the worst he'll get is a little verbal jabbing. If he were moving to Philly, I'd recommend prayer.
