Is there no justice?

Brent Sopel has a Stanley Cup, but Marcel Dionne doesn't?

Yes, I am a bitter old fart. The Kings better win the Cup before I croak.....

Everything in my heart says the Kings will win the Cup in the next few seasons. Everything and I have NEVER been able to say that in my 30 years of supporting this team, not even in 92-93, not even after we went up 1-0 in that series.

Only if the Kings spend the money to get the missing pieces. The current team doesn't have enough.

Bernier is the key.

For the record, I'm pissed for everyone who has worn the Forum Blue and Prarie Gold with pride - it should have happened LONG ago. I want to thank all of the ownership groups who have put profit over pride - for all of you who have treated the Kings as a tax loss - Go Fornicate Yourselves! There are now only a handful of franchises that haven't won the Cup since the Kings have come into the league.

It's time to step up and MAKE IT HAPPEN!

I always laugh when I see a guy like Huet lift the cup, must kind of suck for back-up goaltenders.

At least Philly got big wins from both their goaltenders in the playoffs, had they won both the guys would have had a secure feeling of accomplishment.

For me there was a certain moment in time where I finally realized I root for a team that doesn't matter. I went to Toronto and visited the HHOF. The Kings are almost non-existant as you walk around and look at all the stuff they have there. If you were to subtract Wayne Gretzky off the Kings I challenge anybody to go to the HHOF and prove to me the Kings have ever existed as an NHL franchise.

Can't be any more heartbreaking than Luc lifting the cup with someone else and never getting to as a King.

Didn't help that the Kings had to face all those Canadian powerhouses when they were at their best.

Then came the Red Wings and the Avs.

Some point they'll be able to overcome, but we haven't even waited as long as Chicago fans.

On the road, Sopel doesnt have a roommate, as he doesnt Sleep!

I assume they meant regularly because everyone has to sleeep some, but . . .

I'm not making that up.

But Chicago had past success (SC banners in their bldg). The Kings still haven't had any.

Between the 2, I'm glad that Chicago won instead of Philly - just because Philly came into the NHL at the same time as the Kings, and they're already won it twice. **** Philly.

I have known 2 people that don't sleep. It's really weird.

One was a girlfriend in High School. I though she was doing drugs or something until her family and friends all convinced me.
Every few days she would take a few sleeping pills and sleep for about 6 hours and was fine.
I started using it to my advantage and would have her clean my room and **** while I slept.

A lot on this board think that trading for Wayne was a mistake.

Yet, this move along with trading Nichols lead to the only finals appearance in Kings history.

I get happy for all former Kings who win the cup. It really is a rare feat. I though Roenick and Milbury summed it up pretty good last night. Hats off to Sopel and Huet. Congrats boys. Wish they could of won it at home though.

I get your point about the back up goalie, but he does do a job even if its pushing the #1 in practice plus he won games for Chicago to. Everybody earns it to a degree. I like to see all the guys raise the cup even down to the equipment guys to the scouts.

Agreed, maybe Quick would have been better if Bernier was pushing him in practice instead of Ersberg.

I don't usually get upset about former players winning the cup elsewhere whether they deserve it or not.. They made a choice to go (whether it was their choice or not) and worked out for them.

For Quick I think it was an accumulation of things. Playing so many games for the first time as an NHLer, 1st child being born, Olympics, and of course the playoffs. Put this alltogether and he was drained physically and emotionally.

I don't quite get why some of you guys are happy for Sopel. I know he used to be a king but he was pretty much insignificant in the limited time that he was here. I feel no attachment to Sopel at all.

I'm with those who say the kings will win the cup in the next few years. If we continue to progress and add a few key FA's along the way, why not? But then again, I'm an eternal optimist (most of the time).
