Signing Free Agent Craig Anderson last season helped our team a bit I hope we sign 1 or 2 players this off-season.
I would hardly call Craig Anderson a "big name" free agent. That signing was great because it was low risk. If Andy didn't pan out his contract was for a small cap hit and he'd be gone in two years anyway.
Didn't signing FA's over the years made this team successful? Yes, there have been signings that didn't work out, but that happens to any team, but the point is, the avs have been successful by drafting and signing big name FA's.
What big name free agents have the Avs signed that were wildly successful here?
fan, we're not winning the Stanley Cup next year. There's no need to jump the gun signing everyone and their grandmothers yet. The sooner you understand this, the better. In a couple of years, this discussion will be more relevant.
Dude, the quicker you realize there's no use arguing with someone as ignorant as him, the better. Don't quote any of his posts unless they sway a little from his normal genre, because by now he's just trying to get a rise out of us, there's no other reason for him to do the doomsday thing in a thread as irrelevant as the Dupuis contract thread.
Those are the main components of the Stanley Cup winners that weren't home grown.
This is the reason I'm so terrified to buy an O'Reilly jersey. I like the kid and the way he plays and all that.....but I can totally see him being the main chip in a deal to bring a top winger.....I would hate seeing him go but I'm realistic. Getting a 1st liner for a 3rd line center....I'd take the 1st line wing every time. Even if the kid is 19.
In a recent Dater article Sherman was asked again if he's going to sign any FA's and again he said no. Apparently him and Kroenke really think that they can win with bunch of crap.
So that plan is sign all this no name players into small contracts, save the money for rainy day, and man, it is going to rain on the avs season next year when they do finish somewhere in the bottom of the standings and perhaps then, or i should say hopefully then they will realize that you kinda need some above average players to win in the NHL.
Maybe the avs think Sacco is some kind of a coach magician who's going to win in the NHL with an AHL roster
so if the avs dont finish in the bottom 3 like you are pretty much guaranteeing will you just delete you account so no one has to see this in every other thread
