Montreal Gazette: Buffalo, Columbus, Anaheim & NJ seriously interested in Kaberle
Yeah, I avoided throwing Bobby Ryan, Jakub Voracek or the 4th overall pick in there since the Maple Leafs would have to add to the deal significantly (possibly Kulemin) in order to get those guys.
I was aiming for just Kaberle (maybe a pick or a prospect).
Isn't there a thread where all this can go already out there? I'm sure there are a lot of teams interested but it all come s down to who Kaberle will re-up with at the end of the day with a few exceptions.
I understand why Columbus needs Kaberle, but what in reality could they give up for him? Everyone of interest seems like a non-starter, or an overpayment.
As a realistic Leafs fan I suspect one of these guys coming back in a deal for Kabs
Buffalo: Stafford or Pominville (I can actually see a trade around Pominville making some sense for both sides)
Columbus: Umberger or Filitov (Filitov's problems in CLB likely only reason they might trade him) (Brassard just got a new contract, he is not going anywhere), 4th overall (not much else would go with that, maybe a mid level prospect)
Ducks: Wiz, Belesky or a deal around picks
Jersey: One of Jofeseon or Tedenby could be involved, Palmieri, maybe Clarkson depending on how much he wants, but if he wants 2.25 or under he stays in Jersey for a long time

Living in Buffalo and watching a lot of Sabres games make me say that I absolutely do not want Roy on the Leafs. He's a soft player who dives all over the ice and disappeared this year in the playoffs. No thanks

The Jackets GM was on NHL Live today and he made it pretty clear that Columbus has no interest in parting with the #4 overall pick. So you can go ahead and take that out of any proposal.

The only one I could possibly going out of those two is Tedenby (I hope not), but we just got them. We'll more likely give Clarkson or Langenbrunner.
I don't like a deal involving NJ. I just think Burke would get better players from Buffalo or Columbus.

I'd be annoyed beyond my mind if we ended up with David effin Clarkson as the main piece for the Kaberle trade return.
I think Kabs goes to the Sabres. It's the most logical choice.
