If we could sign him for 2-3 years, 4 million per, I would be down. He is pretty much a 2nd line, border line 1st liner. Could be good opposite Gaborik.

I give him one-year. He scored 19 goals on a team with great talent like LA. He'd probably do **** with us. If we had a #1 playmaking center, I'd be down. Say we trade for Richards, I'd be all over Frolov.

On the one hand, his offensive production last year was in part because he was relegated to the third line and a checking role in LA.
On the other hand, he was relegated to the third line for a reason - his compete level has been questioned, at times.
I've always been okay with adding Fro, as long as it's not a crazy ass deal. I'd give him 4 million for 3 years. If he doesn't want to take that, I give him 4.5 for one year. I've watched a lot of Kings hockey and Frolov is a talented kid. I think he'd do great on broadway.

One year is probably not realistic. He did have 51 points last year, in a bad year. You can do much worse than Frolov for 2 or 3 years.
Some talent on the top 6, Not Kovy or the center we need, but if it keeps Cally plated on the 3rd line with Drury, then that's a good thing for the team. Not a bad thing.
Please remember that this means the end of Redden if he is signed.
Is the source legitimate? This is a player who has scored 21, 35, 23, 32, 19, goals since the lockout. Another year on, year off type guy. He is due for a year on.
How low could his "compete level" be if he scored 51 points playing on the 3rd line?
I guess a combination of consistency and compete level would be a better way to describe it - he's solid defensively, but looks disinterested at times, which I suppose can be construed as either a lack of competitiveness or simply inconsistency. EDIT: He can thrive on talent alone, because he certainly has a lot of talent.
Do not want. Why pass on Zherdev at 3.9 (what he was rewarded) to just sign him at 4 mil. Would make no sense looking back on that. Just like Zherdev I feel Frolov is the type of player that Torts will hate.
If he gets 2.5 to 3 mil cap hit for like 1 year maybe 2 i wouldn't mind that much.

Zherdev has never hit 30 goals or 70 points. Frolov is also stronger, and could be a picture perfect winger for Anisimov.
whats the validity of this person tweeting?
btw, put me in the "short term ok" category - 2 years max
Not sure about this person specifically, but if it was re-tweeted by about 7 people, including Zipay it must be somewhat legit.
As for the actual deal itself, sort term 2-3 years at 4 mill would be good for secondary scoring. Having a 2nd line along the lines of Frolov - Anisimov - MZA is pretty impressive.
Next year's top line of: Frolov - Richards - Gaborik will be impressive

His cap hit will be 4 mil+, if we sign him.
Yeah, but we're not in the position to take a gamble on a guy that maybe will live up to a certain potential. It just continuing to plug holes in a sinking ship that will never get us to Stanley Cup Land. I rather be patient and develop our own players then keep on signing these stop gaps.
I just don't see the room to sign this guy at 4 mil, even with redden demoted. We gonna have to pay Cally and Dubi next year aren't they RFAS, what if say Dubi has a breakout year.
Frolov value has dropped. Maybe the rangers could get him on a 1 or 2 year deal. The guy last three years he scored 67, 59 and 51 points. He will add secondary scoring. I would of signed him instead of Prospal because to me Prospal was very reliant on Gaborik. He did nothing when he wasn't playing with Gabby. Frolov is a guy who can add secondary scoring to this team. While MZA is very skilled he is too much of a wild card. You cant just hand him a job if he is not nhl ready. It would be repeating the same mistake they made with Gilroy last year.
