Alouettes beat the Roughriders 30-26 tonight, which makes the Stamps game tomorrow night @ the Lions even bigger.

Now here's hoping the Argonauts can beat the Eskimos to make it a great night.

Yup! Stamps win and all other western division teams lose. I like the Stamps 2-0 division record so far.

Yeah that's great news. I assume Tsoumpas will be returning to his old position at right guard.

For an O-Line that was expected to be horrible, they sure have stepped up and proven the critics wrong so far this season. Archibald, O'Neill, Comiskey, Lazeo, Myddleton, Harrison and Gott have all played very well this year, and the addition of Tsoumpas only strengthens an already good O-Line. Now if only we could get Newman to come out of retirement and return to the Horsemen.

Here's hoping we completely demolish the Eskimos on Sunday. Let Reynolds run all over them.

Amen,I love it when the Stamps force feed running yards. Sask can not defend against the rush and I hope the Stamps blow out the Esks today.

What a great game to be at, always a good night when the Stampeders destroy the Eskimos. Men against boys out there. Now we can only hope whatever injury Juwan Simpson picked up isn't anything serious. It would really suck to lose him for any amount of time when you consider what a great season he's been having.

Congrats to Joffrey Reynolds on passing Tracy Ham!

6-1!

This guy should really improve our league best defense. One guy on twitter described Mace's skills as "bringing a nuclear bomb to a knife fight".

Great that the Riders lost, now onto Labour Day with the Stamps up 2 wins on Sask plus having the tie breaker. Now Sask needs 3 more wins than Calgary to win the west... I like!

Jesse Newman was back at practice today, per Carmeron's twitter.

http://twitter.com/AllenCameron.

Aside from a healthy Montreal, I'm not sure any team could beat the Stamps right now.

What a great weekend to be a Stamps fan. Stamps beat the Lions, and the Riders lose the next night. On top of that, Mace's signing is now official, and Newman is back. I like!

Hopefully Passmore's injury is nothing serious and he's back on his feet soon. Scary moment for sure.

Good to hear. I am hoping for back to back wins over the Esks and Sask losing one of their Winnipeg games (well both would be even better)

It's funny that the nuclear bomb couldnt make the NFL's practice squad.

Ryan Thelwell doubtful for Labour Day Classic.

Quote:
Calgary Stampeders head coach John Hufnagel revealed that receiver Ryan Thelwell was the most serious of the trio of injuries suffered during the teamís victory over the B.C. Lions on Friday.

ďHe has a groin injury, itís fairly sore. Itís a day-to-day thing but Iím not real optimistic about him making the game (next Monday),Ē Hufnagel said.
Quote:
Should Thelwell be unable to play next week against the Edmonton Eskimos, Hufnagel said Jabari Arthur would see more playing time and Johnny Forzani will be activated.

Romby Bryant and Jon Cornish should be fine, injuries nothing serious.

Quote:
Wide reciever Romby Bryant, meanwhile, fell heavily, and awkwardly, after making a reception and appeared to ding a shoulder. "He had a little numbness, so we kept him out on a precautionary basis,íí said Hufnagel.

So no problem there.

Runningback Jon Cornish, meanwhile, had already, despite the team arriving in the wee small hours of Saturday morning, been in for evaluation by early afternoon. Hufnagel called the former Kansas starís problem an "upper leg injury" - read: hamstring. Cornish again displayed his breakaway talents against the Leos, compling 70 yards on six carries, including busting one tote for 52.

"He should be fine,íí said the coach.

Stampeders trade OL Jesse Newman to the Lions.

Quote:
The Calgary Stampeders made it official Saturday as they shipped offensive lineman Jesse Newman to the B.C. Lions in exchange for a 2011 second round pick and a future conditional pick.

The conditional pick is believed to be a fourth round pick that is contingent on the Lions ability to re-sign Newman when his current contract expires at the end of the season.
TSN.

Well done, Huff.
