Why are you being so down about it? Its not like the teams are MOVING there. They are playing a couple games there, thats it. On another site I saw a Trenton fan miserable about it...ITS ONE GAME. Some people are just unbeleivable. If you dont want to go, you can get refunded for the game.

(From what I heard it was also a request for the state as they wanted help to show that the arena can handle hockey. AC is going to be hosting games for the ECAC so the state wants to show that it is capable of handling hockey there. This helps the Devils + helps the state)

I'd much rather see a game in Atlantic City than in Trenton. I plan on going to a few Albany games and getting absolutely bombed immediately after.

It's really simple and it's the bigger issue than the one game. This is another example of where they think they can just roll out the logo and that will be enough, only this time it in even deeper Flyers country. Hockey was a massive failure in AC even when they were at the top of the league. The atmosphere in that building for hockey is beyond dreadful, are you going to argue that? The building is great for concerts its like putting a square peg in a round hole for hockey. As of this mornings phone call the FO hasn't even been told yet by the Lamoriellos what the options are for the Trenton sth. How cool they put the Trenton FO in the position of making those calls without even knowing what the deal is yet?

One positive though is how can you not be excited about all the announced signings? It's not like almost ever other team has given their fanbase at least something to look forward to. Just more of the same.

Devils fans really don't care about the ECHL team beyond a very few select players. And I mean a very few.

Just the way it is.

Pretty much. I don't think I could name a single player of the Trenton team last year.

Kevin Cormier! And Kory Nagy, for some of it.

I think that's all. Oh, that guy Plough or Prough or whatever.

I thought Cormier played in Albany. I guess that makes one lol. I've heard the name Nagy before but know nothing about him.

Yep the same Kevin Cormier that was sent home for the second season in a row mid-season to deal with some personal issues. I think he played maybe 11 or so games and in a couple of those never took a shift.

Granted the few of us that are actually still going to games in Trenton are nothing more than saddist at this point. There seems to be little doubt the Devils will drive the final nail in that market as they've done in Utica/Lowell etc. They should house their ECHL team (if they insist on having one) at South Mountain or some practice rink somewhere. Some place where the normal 300-500 people wouldn't be lost in a sea of empty green seats.

Welcome back Albany - nice of you to donate 4 or your home games to the cause of painting the town of AC red to go along with Lowell and Trenton. Just another example of the Devils spreading their minor league stink into a town that's even more of a Flyers town than Trenton.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but the Albany schedule was released recently.

Anyone planning on attending their opener on Saturday October 9?

I know there is the AC games but I'm shocked Albany won't be playing any games in Newark this yr.

Last year you had the Olympic break, and with the games in AC the STH in Albany are already getting screwed out of a couple games.

Good to see he's getting a chance to be part of the organisation. Let's hope he can do something with the opportunity.

Albany Devils lose to Hartford Wolfpack 3-0 in their first pre-season game. There were 12 fighting penalties and a misconduct, needless to say the hatred for each other go beyond the Devils/Rangers.

Starters were

G: D. Caruso
D: H. Young
D: C. Murray
LW: E. Castonguay
C: A. Henrique
RW: N. Perkovich

I'm really happy the org is giving Henrique the proper time to develop instead of just throwing him into the fire because I think he'd have a real shot at making this team as a 4th liner. He's much better off in Albany leading that team and adjusting to the pros.

He's going to be real good and I believe if Josefson makes the team this year, he'll be our second line center next season with Henrique making the team as a 3rd line center. It's good to see the new beginning of a transformed Devils team.

This is going to be a fun team to watch grow.

Just with Johnny Mac's presence as coach, I feel like our younger guys are going to be given real looks to make the team in coming years. Hopefully no more veteran stop gaps filling in on the fly.
