I got this from another board, but I know many of you {as well as myself} would love to have Bobby Ryan as a Ranger..
"Eric Duhatschek was just interviewed on TSN and said that Bobby Ryan might be in play (and that the Leafs were interested, which is no surprise given Burke's connection)."
So what do you think it would take for us to land Ryan, and would it be worth it?

Ryan is already a star. He's 23 and scored over 30 goals twice already. He played under 65 games last year I'm pretty sure and still scored 31.
I'm aware. However, not for a player like MDZ playing a position in which great offensive d-men aren't all that often. When both reach their prime I think looking back at a trade like that you would say we overpaid by including a 2nd.I think an MDZ in his prime and a Bobby Ryan in his prime will be an even swap. That's how highly I think of MDZ, and that's why I don't make the trade.
On a side note. God forbid we let our homegrown players develop; and a future star like MDZ at that.
What is Bobby Ryan's upside? He scored 35 last year in his second full year. Can he score 45+? He would sure fill in that 2nd line RW spot pretty nicely.
no they're not going to trade bobby ryan for 2 players who have barely sniffed the nhl. as i said i think grachev girardi and 10th overall might get it done
I'd prefer to do it without giving up Staal or MDZ. Not sure if that's possible, however.
I'd easily give up Grachev, #10 pick, and Sangs/McD/Dubinsky/Anisimov/Stepan/Kreider (preferably not a Ani or Stepan, since we're pretty thin at center.) I think it COULD be enough, but they'd also probably get better offers.
