he turned down big money in small markets 1} atlanta 2} new jersey. because he wants the big market spotlight.

july 1st kovalchuk will be a leaf
Wow the delusional approach

If you were a little bit more perceptive, you may have realized that it was in fact a joke.

P.S. Scotty Bowman was never a great GM. Try not to comment on things you know nothing about.

Love how this trade is brutal. Why dont we give it a while? Maybe in 5 years Seguin is shining Bowman's shoes.

everybody outside leaf nation thinks the trade was brutal so maybe that should be a hint to take off rose colored glasses

everyone outside of leafs nation is so biased to the leafs its retarded. till seguin actually gets into the nhl and starts sniping 30+ goals on a yearly basis kessel is the better player. seguin could be daigle you never know but what we do know is that kessel is already a elite goal scorer at 22. no shade of glasses can hide that.

It seems that many posters here don't grasp the concept that 21 year old star RFAs don't become available very often.

I would think that signing Kovalchuk as a UFA would have been a tad bit smarter than trading two 1sts and a 2nd for Kessel.

hate to break this to you they just dont get seguin they get 32 pick this year and a first next year and Dustin Penner out scored Kessel this year and 30 goals is far from elite 45 and up makes you a elite goal scorer not 30 or 36 because then you would have to class Ryan Smyth as a elite goal scorer.

Sure a 27 year old Penner scored 2 more goals than a 22 year old Kessel.
