I see no interest from Edm in this deal whatsoever.

You could add Carey price, PK subban, and Lars eller and it would still be a no from edmonton

Montreal does not have the assets to acquire the first overall pick

So Edmonton is going to tell their fans that they traded away the first overall pick after a year of sucking, For Tomas Plekanec,Max Pacioretty and the 27th overall pick? I'd fear for my life if I was their Gm.

I know some people believe size doesn't matter, but we need to go to war with bigger cojones.

Instead of trading for him and having him tie up 3m+ might as well give a chance to Desharnais next year.

Plex is a proven top 2 centreman right now. Max Pac is a good looking prospect of they could go with A. Kosty who's a proven 20+ goal scorer even when slumping and another Bona Fide top 6 player. Not to mention they dump Horcoff's terrible contract that's been hanging over them. This isn't a terrible deal imo.

Sure those players you are giving them are nice. But for the number 1 overall pick??!?! HELL NO

What if we give florida markov + for there first which they are apperently switching up with boston for the second and pick seguin, and since we have the safe pick go with the homer at 27 in kabanov. We can then trade the kost's and either hamrlik or spacek to l.a for jack johnson. This is 99.9 percent not going to happen but would love that we would even be able keep pleks and sign a guy like hamhuis.

The best thing about proposals like this is that the OP is 100% serious and 100% believes Edmonton would accept this deal. I'd like for one day be able to venture into the heads of people making trade proposals on these boards. Or even sit down and watch a game with them and see what they see.

If I could, I'd offer up:

Plex - fit in with Edm model especially if they bring back Jagr
Hamr - to replace Souray once they dump his contract
Max Pac or Kosty's if they prefer
1st round pick

If you want to get edms first, you have to start with Eller/PK Subban.

I think a better proposal would be to have the rangers send over drury and we give them Eller and price.

Horcoff has a very bad contract, but it's not so bad that eating it up means we get a 1st overall pick for expendable parts...

Sign Jokinen to 1-2 year 4.25 mil/year

Why? He's had some bad years but is a big center and has played excellent under JM.

Sign Colby Armstrong.

Still 1.137 mil in cap room should we want to make a trade.

I realized, there isn't a trade, only signings but I think we have some solid scoring, depth at center and a big center we always needed.

Palushaj to Detroit Red Wings

I know it will not happen now maybe later. Traded Palushaj to Detroit Red Wings. Two things. He a big Red Wings fan and he from Detroit area. I don't think it will happen. You never know. It may happen later if Palushaj is really good in NHL.

Agreed. Ladd or Byfuglien, especially Byfuglien. This should be a main focal point in the offseason if i'm Gauthier. Trade them some of young winger talent and a pick for one of them.

Pacioretty
2nd round in 11'

for

Byfuglien

Horcroft and Hammer cancel out.
Plek has no value, Edmonton can wait two weeks to sign him.
So you're giving Pacioretty to move down 27 spots. Really?

Please no to Kris Versteeg, he has talent and good puck skills. Yet he plays very "small." I've had the chance to follow him a fair amount and it is clear to nearly anyone that if you do not give him space, he will not be able to hurt you. perimeter player, we have a few of those... id rather keep ours.
