Wow they have 8 days off over Christmas. Couldn't squeeze in one of those 39 back-to-backs in there?

Just noticed thanks to MountainHawk that Tampa has a 12-game 35-day homestand, Flyers make both trips to Tampa during this time. How the hell do you get a 12-game home stand? The Canucks didn't even get that last year and they had to play 14 games in a row on the road (divided by the Olympics).

Capitals Rookies to Face Flyers Sept. 16 at Kettler Capitals Iceplex

Tuesday, 08.24.2010 / 2:49 PM / News

ARLINGTON, Va. – Washington Capitals rookie camp will conclude on Thursday, Sept. 16, with a 3 p.m. game against rookies from the Philadelphia Flyers at Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, Va. Admission to the game will be free but due to space limitations will require a ticket that fans can obtain from WashingtonCaps.com beginning Sept. 1.

This is the fourth consecutive year that the Capitals and Flyers rookies have met in a game at one of the teams’ practice facilities, the second time that it will take place at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. WashingtonCaps.com will broadcast streaming audio and video of the game live, with Capitals radio voice Steve Kolbe and senior writer Mike Vogel calling the action.

The Capitals will open rookie camp on Sunday, Sept. 12, with all on-ice workouts at Kettler Capitals Iceplex open to the public and free of charge. Select participants in rookie camp will be invited to join veteran players in training camp, which begins Saturday, Sept. 18. Like rookie camp, all training camp on-ice workouts are open to the public. A complete schedule of practice sessions for both rookie camp and training camp will be announced in early September.

I posted the TSN Flyers schedule in the league thread; this seems like a good place for it, too:

Games on TSN:
Philadelphia @ Toronto (Dec. 9)
Philadelphia @ Montreal (Dec. 15)
Philadelphia @ Vancouver (Dec. 28)

Games on TSN2:
Buffalo @ Philadelphia (Oct. 26)
Pittsburgh @ Philadelphia (Dec. 14)
Philadelphia @ Buffalo (Jan. 11)
Washington @ Philadelphia (Mar. 22)

Hmmmm interesting. A few of the games, not counting the one against Pitt since they are opening their new arena, are on Wednesday and Thursday. Wonder if VS. is going to be showing games on different nights a lot

I didn't check days of the week but perhaps early in the season they are trying to avoid a matchup with Monday Night Football. Any Monday games in 2011, after the NFL sched finishes?

Wow, triple header to open the season on VS. Carolina vs Minnesota at 12 from Helsinki Flyers Pens at 7 and Chicago Colorado at 10. Thats awesome.

A lot of Monday Tuesday night games. Some times there are no games on Monday nights and theres a good amount of weeks were there are games on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday nights. They even show games on 4 nights in a row one week, the week when Calgary and Montreal play their heritage game. Last week of the season, there are games on Monday-Friday too.

VS seems to be showing a lot more games this year which is awesome.

Complete VS schedule
